So a lady posted "Rescued" Pit Bull puppies on "Craigslist".

I emailed her and mentioned they look a little too young to be away from momma just yet (Maybe 4wks of age).

She emails back saying they look small because they are "Pocket Pit Bulls" (Which I wasn't basing age on the "Size" but in actuality the over all appearance)

I politely told her "Pocket Pit Bull" is a Fad backyard breeder term. Then proceeded to educate her about the APBT and so forth.

She replied with such RIDICULOUS crap!!! Not to mention...She admits in her email "Her and her breeder have been breeding pocket pit bulls for over 20yrs"

And goes into several emails...Telling me about how shes a responsible breeder and so forth. BUT DOESN'T BELIEVE IN SHOWING DOGS, DOESN'T BELIEVE IN BREEDING FOR STANDARDS ETC how is that responsible? Then she has room to claim how "Breeders make her sick"

Her very own statements:

"I don't care about show ring crap. most people this day and age don't either. I breed my dogs small, wide and they are sweet that is all that matters"

"most of you breeders make me sick. you do nothing about temperament and yes mom and dads temperament matter. Most just breed a male and female cause they think they will have good pups. we waited 3 years for are female cause we wanted the best temperament. are male is the sweetest. Yes they are pockets look it up. I breed for size and temperament"

"there is such things as pockets Me and my breeder have been breeding for over 20 years"

In mass they are talking about restricting breeding of dogs without a breed committee, license, and fees (small but enough to keep morons from breeding). As much as I hate infringing on peoples rights I also am sick of dealing with the cost of euthenizing/rehoming thousands of dogs

That's a lie so she wouldn't get flagged. What sane rescuer would give the pups away under 8 weeks. Hell most won't give them away till about 10. She told on herself. To the op I hope in between messages you flagged her ad down also. Smh bybs are really starting to make me sick.

I sent her a final email back when we were emailing back and forth and it shut her up. But if she got a clue who knows.

I just explained to her about real dogmen vs backyard breeders. I even told her to join this forum, since she feels my information is wrong LOL I told her to ask THOUSANDS of hobbyists, breeders, fans whatever...

As well as I pointed out her contradictions. Didn't hear nothing back and her ads have been steadily flagged off craigslist when I posted shes a backyard breeder.

It just drives me insane when I come across some of these ads, I really gotta stay off craigslist ha ha.

So many people mislabel APBT and it sucks. Just stupid crap, but me being involved with the breed for 21+yrs...I tend to get upset over stupid mislabeling more so then I should ha ha.

Example. Someone posted a Pit/Staffie. "Purebred blue nose pit/staffie, Black and white in color".

I don't even think its possible to have a black and white APBT with a blue nose? not unless the coat or skin has a tint of blue, or the dog is truly a VERY dark slate grey? Muchless how do you have a PUREBRED pit/staffie? LOL Its almost saying "I have a purebred Yorkie/Chihuahua" LOL

my besties mom got a "pocket" pit. 1st time i ever heard of it so i asked what that means and she says "well he's chihuahua and pit mixed"

I knew someone with a Pug/APBT. CUTEST little thing ha ha ha, but the BYB docked the tails? Made NO sense but ok (Since neither breed has docked tails). But he was a little bigger then a pug, and mostly resembled pug except had a pitty head/nose. Basically almost reminded me of a little bulldog, he too was called a "Pocket Pit". There is so many variations. Thus why it urks me when someone who claims to be a responsible breeder for "Pit Bulls" is doing such stupid crap.
