When ever they eat something living or anything from something living I would worry about parasites. Or what ever else they maybe carrying.

Yucky!

I would take this as an opportunity to perfect the drop it and leave it command.

Veronica got a mouthful once.

You can pretty much forget the drop it command...

I could have gone in after it...but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

My dogs love gopher tortoise poop! They'd love to eat the turtle too but no way jose! I love, love, love them with their cute little elephant hind legs!

But here we all are buying our dogs expensive food without this stuff and look what they go and do! Bad, bad doggies!

Bird poop almost always contains Salmonella. So please be careful. I used to live near a pond with geese and I TRIED (mostly unsuccessfully) to keep my dogs from eating the poop. Just be cautious about letting your dogs lick you during goose season!!

My dog got dog crap the other day I went in after it but he was too fast and I made him wimped by squeezing but not too hard. He has a bump on his snout in his bone structure so I was wondering if someone broke his nose before I got him. I sometimes play with him this way and he doesn't wimper so I'm also guessing he knew I was angry with him

Yeah when it comes to Geese Poop, it doesn't matter how well trained your dog is, that training goes right out the window.

Best thing to do is just avoid walking where Geese are. Sasha actually got attacked by a Canadian Goose last year. It didn't care about Trouble but I think it though Sasha was like a Coyote or something and it had a nest near by and it came and ran at her. Those Geese are some mean SOBS. My husband had to chase it off with a stick. We quick walking there. That Goose scared me. And it wasn't good to bring the dogs over there. I mean Trouble was smaller than the Goose. But again the goose saw Sasha as a predator or something. Sasha was just happy to be walking, she didn't care about the goose or its eggs. We just avoid the geese areas right now. We have alternative places to walk.

I've used a stick to pry poop from Odin's mouth. He's luckily grown out of that phase.

They can get giardia from goose poop. I would try to keep them away.

Well, maybe not the drop it command. I know I have to say leave it like a mile away....they always spot it. But, I know leave it does work, just have to be really persistent. Can't even let them look at it when walking by or all hope is lost. Or....I guess the other route is swerving all over the place to avoid the geese poop.

That's the ticket!

I didn't realize what she had in her mouth until she had a mouthful...

After that we avoided the little mounds of treasure like the plague.

Luckily, the only place we run into goose poop is in the cemetary when we go to pay our respects.

Idk if its the migration of the geese but there is a lot of them on this field where I being my dogs during their walks daily. And my dogs are eating their poop like candy! I been trying to get them to stop but they love it. Ewwww

I doubt it's good for them but harmful? Dunno.
Have they been vaccinated for Bird Flu?

I don't know what it is about geese poop and dogs but Sasha finds it to be a fine to die for treat. Yuck. One of the places we used to walk Sasha became over ran with Geese and we just had to find a new place to walk her when the geese were there. She would go cukoo cukoo for geese poop.

Is it bad for them? It can't be good for them. As to how harmful is it. I don't know.

I don't know how bad it is for them but I would avoid it at all costs. I wouldn't want my dog kissing me with geese poop mouth!
