Maybe the ''pits'' you are seeing are actually American Bullies and not American Pit Bull Terriers , and the labs... ya... they are probably just fat.

I agree with Zoe.

I guess a lot of people see most of the backyard breeders and fad bred dogs who are short and wide...not to mention head size and so forth is talked up quite a bit.

Truth is the APBT isn't supposed to be a "Hippo". Yes. They should be muscular but muscular IN PROPORTION to their body. The APBT is GENERALLY the more Lean, Leggier of the various bullies. Of course there is variations within each breed.

I wouldn't worry about his width.

Star looks fine to me. All dogs have their own body shape but APBTs should have a good waistline. Hell, all dogs IMO should have a good waistline. Sounds like what everyone else has already said, fat labs/ambullies. I hope you don't mind me posting pics in your thread but, for comparison, here's my wide lab. (kidding of course)

yea I think your dog looks fine, Goren did not start getting a wider chest untill about 14 months, now he looks funny to me, but he is also a mix of something = a mutt hehe...I am just thinking if you think your pup is to narrow, I would just let it grow, don't overfeed, just let it fill out how it will and love what you have.

Default Why is star so "nArrow"
I'm sure he is mixed with black lab but why is he so narrow. It seems that labs are not that narrow. But could it be just because he is just a puppy And not filled out yet but he is 14 months old

She doesn't look narrow to me at all.
When I think 'narrow', I think of this picture:

Dobies aren't wide dogs either. I'm trying to figure out what you're talking about..... Your dog looks like a dog. Do you want him fat? Because that's the only way he's going to get wider.

No I don't want him fat. It just seems like all the labs and pitbulls I see are wider than he is. I'm not sure if I'm using the right terminology. I know dobies aren't wide.

His structure is what it is you can't change it. But he will gain more muscle mass as he gets older, you can help this by exercising him.

FB apbts are med size dogs, Kyza was narrow and so is Gracie, hes just a pup. Dont feel like you have to have the biggest, widest dog. Showing that she is smaller is good as he has that athletic look, beautiful!

Heres Gracie with her tiny behind

And Kyza.

Nothing wrong with your boy, hes looking good.
