Default Desperatley need help
Hello all I need to find a new place to live in the Eastside of Seattle, WA. I have been looking for months for a place to live that isn't that expensive and is in a good neighborhood that will accept pitbulls. I just keep getting "no" from everywhere I call!

What do I do???

Is there a behaviorist in your area that can do a temperament test so you can show the landlords? It also wouldn't hurt to ask previous roommates and landlords to email you a referral that you could forward to them as well.

That is a good idea. I'll look for a behaviorist in my area and talk to my previous landlords too. Thanks!

I think a lot of it is just networking. Are you able to afford a house over an apartment? You'll find a lot of private owners are much more accepting. We just moved into our place in Woodinville and the owners have no problems with our staffy mix (nor our reptiles).

It can take a bit but there ARE places out there. Having a CGC and obedience work on your dog can help a lot. Also see if your vet would be willing to write something up. There are quite a few bully friendly behaviorists around here so I'm sure you'll get help in that area, too.

If I can be of any other help, let me know!

This is all awesome! I've only been able to rent houses in the past but I was trying to go into an apartment to save money but it seems to be much more challenging. I will see if I can get a letter from my vet and a CGC.

Yeah, apartments are going to be a bit tougher only because you often have to deal with their insurance companies and the prejudice of big management groups.

Does the place have to be on the Eastside? I have friends that live in Lake City in a pit friendly apartment complex. I can check to see if there are any openings if that isn't too far out for you.

Well I work in Renton so Lake City is pretty far. I'll check out some houses around here. I might have to go into the woods or into Kent.
