I REALLY don't get some dog owners these days. It's like they actually don't mind or care if their dog gets hurt?
I was walking Peyton in my neighborhood a few days ago, and we were rounding a corner and heard a dog barking (sounded to me like, "hey there's a dog coming!" type bark) and a lady going "hey now quiet quiet stop barking". Well as soon as we walked past the house where the dog was at, I look over in time to see the lady actually DROP the leash attached to her oddly mixed dog (brindle, but short, stocky with a curly tail and extremely pointed ears) and allow her dog to run straight to Peyton, snarling and growling. It all happened SO fast. He grabs Peyton by the neck and tumbles him over. Thankfully when the pair fell, the other dog must have lost grip or something and I pulled Peyton behind me and stood what my sister said to be a very powerful, protective stance. The other dog just stared at me. I yelled to the owners, who just thought it'd be....entertaining to watch? Who knwos. They just stood there and said NOTHING the entire time. I screamed at them for them to come get their "blanking" dog, and they called her over and i scooped up Peyton and walked away. Thankfully he wasn't injured at all, just really shaken up. Peyton did nothing the entire time but yelp, scream and yip. He did nothing to fight back, poor thing was petrified. I had a few choice words with the owners who still proceeded to ignore me and allow their dog to roam the yard while we hurried away. Like honestly. Did they WANT to pay all my dog's vet bills if he had been hurt? Did they WANT their dog to be put down if it had bit me or my sisters, instead of my dog? Did they WANT AC to come to their house? Like really, come on people. If you actually cared about your dog in any kind of way, you wouldn't jeopardize their life like that. or anyone else's for that matter! I'm still fuming about it. I don't get the way people's brains work. |

A lot of people really don't care about their dogs. To them they are just objects for their amusment, whatever that may be.
I've had to pick up and carry Lily before. This one jackass had a large pack of terrier/bulldog mix (you do that math on that one ![]() |

i'm not a very nice person when it comes to people that have a ha and da dog.i went on a trial my mom and i.EVERYONE had their dogs off leash and they were just running all over the place.i picked up the biggest stick i could find and that's when people started staring at me.i heard one person mummble under their breathe dog abuser.suddenly this black chow comes out of no where snarling and growling at my other dog canon and tried to 'hump' sabrina.canon wasn't taken the dogs crap and snarled back.sabrina turned around and gave the dog a nice good love bite on the snout and started snapping at the dog.you'd think the male got the message but he did not.mean while,i was screaming for the person to come get their dog and they didn't.i took matters into my own hand and pulled the dog off of my dog.that's when he decided to show his true nature and tried to attack me.sabrina lunged at the dog and so did canon but i said heelsit(yes all in one word) and hit the dog dead in the head.that really got the oiwners message she started cussing at me and all i said back was 'take the dog to the pound and let it find a better home.any house is better than your's.you standing their watching only shows how ignorant you are.good day madam." and i walked away.she was still cussing and fussing but when sabrina turned around and did a deep bark at her she shut up.

I REALLY don't get some dog owners these days. It's like they actually don't mind or care if their dog gets hurt? I told the owner to call his dog off, because Mick didn't want to play with his dog. His response, "Don't worry, he needs to learn not all dogs want to play with him." Not a minute later, Mick snarls and snaps at the dog. The owner was like, "See my dog just needed to learn a lesson." His dog backed off for a few. A couple minutes later, the dog started back up, and the owner was like, "I guess he needs another lesson." Meanwhile, as soon as the dog got near Mick, he lost it, chased this dog down across the park and pinned him in the corner of the fence. Neither dog was really hurt, but it had a lot of potential to be bad. I leashed up Mick and took him out. The owner of the other dog was still like, "Yeah, my guy still needs to learn not everyone wants to be his friend." Had Sinead went after that dog, it would have been really bad, and had Mick not gotten off him at my command, it would have been pretty bad. I'm just glad that I live on acreage now so I can easily run my dogs without idiot dogs/people. |

Ive had so many run ins with lose dogs and luckily never came across a nasty one yet...*knock on wood.*
And Sin thats the dog park for ya, people arent going to do much 'calling the dog off' at the dog park, if you wanted to play with your dog free of other dogs than the dog park was not a wise choice. Bringing a toy to the dog park is double trouble. ---------- Post added at 04:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:12 AM ---------- I had a german shepherd charge me once at the dog park, I jumped and looked at the dog and than the owner who just kept walking and clearly saw it happen...I just said very loudly 'jesus christ, fucking asshole.' |

Good gosh. I have a 4 month old Pit, and darn near every day that I walk her we get followed by an unleashed Chihuahua. The Chihuahua smells me and my dog coming and starts barking from his apartment, runs down the staircase and right within inches from me and my dog and starts barking. Each day the dog gets more and more aggressive until finally a neighbor had to step in and pick up the Chihuahua and tow it away. I really have a problem with this because although I'm not personally afraid of the Chihuahua, I am concerned that he can bite my little puppy, and I don't want my dog to be exposed to aggression (especially not at such a young age). I'm going to be honest and say that it has gotten to the point that I'm nervous to walk my own dog. Sigh.
I hate irresponsible dog owners, and inconsiderate dog owners. And that goes for people who allow their dog to walk up on you an sniff you without asking your permission. Just because I have a dog does not mean that I want your giantic Great Dane, or ferocious looking Pit to sniff me, and that goes for any dog. SMH |

Three of my sporting dogs that are on my possession now don't care about stray dogs or even snarling dogs. They can even take being sniffed.. but I always stay on guard and as much as possible don't allow them to come near. They just know when to turn on and off their DA.. they know when it's time and on the right place.

I do have dogs for my amusement, but dear god. I don't let them roam or do stupid shit. I'm still waiting for the collie mix down the street that got into a fight with my Rottie, who the owner still lets run free, to come up to me while I'm walking Lucy.
So far that dog has tried to run up on me while I was walking my girls once, with some yappy little hair ball. But the side of us they ran across the street on had Ethel on it, who got her "I'm a big scary dog" stance (and Lucy got her intensely focused "I'm going to get you mother fucker" stance while I got my hand on my break stick) and moved so me and Lucy were behind her, and let out a couple of deep barks at them, and they froze in their tracks. The lady has already been warned to keep her dog tied up after he got into it with Damas (when I first heard the term "Rockweiler"), and I told her she's not going to like what happens when he's full grown, or when I have Lucy with me. And Ethel's dog wall isn't always going to stop them in time. And no matter where I go in the area, I see that damn dog. |

My husband and I were walking Tyra and our Doberman in a field by our house. A little Chihuahua ran underneath a fence and started going nuts. He kept running at them and barking and growling. He started to follow us. The owner jumped over the fence, scooped him up and apologized. He got a few nips in the process. He could not believe that my dogs did not react to his dog.

Tonight my BF and I brought Socrates to a spot we know where there are some nice trails leading to a big open field where we like to run around and play with Socrates on his long leash. It was brutally hot so we ran around for a little while and practiced some recall and decided to be on our way. While we were leaving a man was entering the field. We were walking toward him to get back to the trail and noticed he had an off leash Australian shepherd. The man was visibly nervous and I assumed it was because of Socrates. He yelled to us "is your dog friendly?" and I responded that he was. He didn't say anything. We continued to approach each other and his dog lowered his head, raised his hackles, and started walking very slowly toward Socrates, snarling and growling very low. I said "it doesn't look like your dog is very friendly." and pretty much dragged Socrates in the other direction. My boyfriend got in between Socrates and the other dog and he lunged at Socrates but we were able to keep them separated. He then backed up and started staring down my BF kicking backwards. The owner literally said and did NOTHING. I just got out of there as fast as I possibly could with my dog. My BF said "if you have a dog like that, that is NOT how you handle it." The man said and did nothing at all, just walked off and the dog followed after my BF stood his ground.
All I can say is WTF!!! People just continue to amaze me. ![]() |

I was followed down the road by a chihuaha snarling at us one morning while the owner looked on going "Oh Tina, you knock it off" like it was cute. I go "Your dog is following my down the street, want to grab her?" and he goes "Oh no don't worry she doesn't have teeth."
Oh, well thank God! I was soooo worried that your 5 lb chihuaha might seriously injure my 65 lb dog! |

I was walking through our local park a few nights ago with Hooch, and as I'm walking there was a few adults and there was a 5/6 year old child walking a little dog (not sure of breed, but we'll call it a lap dog). The dog starts pulling the kid and walks right behind Hooch and myself, and the only reason I know the dog is there is Hooch turns and just ignores the dog. The dog decides it wants to sniff our dog, and I look at the child and tell him he may want to get his dog away as I don't know his dog's temperment, but he continues to let the dog follow and sniff. (The other dog wasn't barking, growling or anything, but still I've learned enough to know how things can become quite fast).
I finally allow Hooch to sniff this other dog, (I have him on his traffic leash and harness so I could react quickly to anything he may want to do). The owners of this other dog pay no attention and I finally tell the young boy to take his dog back to his family please and that my dog has had enough. Finally he listens, and we continue on our way, but it's like Hello parents, your dog is pulling your child and you don't really care.. I kinda wanted to slap the parents for not even paying any attention to their dog/child. |
