I don't know why I feel responsible for my neighbor, but I do. I knew when they got the Pit pup that they wouldn't do a thing for it and just yesterday they told me that they couldn't handle the dog now that is is grown, which to me means now that the dog is not adoptable and untrained
![]() I don't think they ever even got shots for their dog.... Krista told me here that I cannot post the dog to be adopted because he is not fixed because his owners never did this. So this dog has maybe a few days to live, his owner said she would let me try to find him a home before she gave him up to a kill shelter in CO Springs.... So I put Trouble on Craigslist... this isn't even my dog but for some reason *I* am the only one that can seem to catch him ![]() |

Craigslist is the last place anyone should ever put a dog.
---------- Post added at 03:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:38 AM ---------- This is on the owners only. An unfixed dog is no less than a castrated one. Only in adoption terms. Only the owners can be blamed for not having time to care for a dog you mustn't blame yourself. |

I guess there are times that what I have to say will grate on some folks, but it is how I feel and I do not apologize for my position...
your words are that this dog is a problem dog.... so... with more dogs who are not problems and can not find a home, and the fact that in my opinion, no kill shelters do more harm to our breed than good, why not let this problem dog be put down instead of finding it a home and allowing one more dog who is not a problem to be put down? There are only so many good homes out there, only so many folks who will responsibly own these dogs... why let problem dogs fill those spots? |

If the dog shows signs of aggression than I would say let the kill shelter have him. If it is just a perfectly nice dog that needs training to make him a desirable pet then I say try to find him a home if you can.
I highly doubt the owners who haven't taken him to the vet or gotten him fixed are likely to do it now that he is on his way out the door, so I think the best bet would be to look for a reputable rescue with bully breed experience and have them take him in, give him his vetting and a little training before he gets adopted out to a permanent home. |

it's sad when the dog is considered the problem when really it's the previous owner. As I have said before, if any dog I ever own needs a behaviorist the problem is not my dog. No such thing when I was growing up, we didn't need dog psychologists or behaviorists back then and dogs turned out just fine. The real problem with today's dogs is today's owners. |
