yea cause that little dog is totally going to be able to do some damage with his huge jaws. Omg that is PATHETIC!! Almost as bad as the talking dogs saying "he ties me to chains in his filthy back yard, teaches me to fight, to never stop fighting even with broken bones." OMG I wanted to vomit. Stupid bait dog myth.

So now with that I'm sure they just inspired a bunch of idiots to go steal people's dogs and set their mutts on them. Good work HSUS! Always on top of things.

What stuns me is that the celebrities who support Peta and the H$U$ didn't do some research beforehand and have no clue what they are actually supporting.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It's just infuriating, and sad.

I remember seeing this one a few years ago I believe. It seems like their goal for this video was to put together as many myths as they possibly could. Didn't you guys know that banging sticks (?) against a cage while it holds a Pit Bull will make the Pit Bull meaner?

I am actually kind of confused on this because I have know of dogs used as bait dogs before, but you guys are saying no one uses other dogs as bait? Can someone explain?

There might have been bait dogs because of the stupid people thinking it's how to get yourself a DA dog. Thanks to their advertising.. stupid people will really think it's how to get a good fighting dog.

The truth is.. bait is being utilize in training your dog. You can use cat, chicken, or any object that can tickle their drive up. But you won't give that bait. If they got bored with a certain bait, then find another bait to boost up the drive. You can certainly find another bait since these dogs have a very high prey drive. But letting that poor cute dog die in the vid in the []? I don't think that could get your dog better.. if he fought a real bulldog and he still think he is fighting a cute dog who don't fight back or he can easily overpower.. then he would either cur out or jump over the pit.

It does happen but it is is done by idiots. They are ignorant people that don't understand dogs and apply human reasoning to try to shape an animal psyche. Rainmaker explained very nicely what the actual results of this kind of stupidity would be.

IMO the "dog fighters" that would do this kind of thing are on the same level as people who have seen a Bruce Lee movie and think it makes them a black belt.

But some stupid dip shit somewhere did do it and got busted for it (combined with the fact that a fair number of the people investigating these things don't know what the hell they are doing) and someone else realized it makes for a nice horror story to scare the masses.

Just one persons opinion, do what you want with it.

Someone needs to teach them what a lab looks like.

This is the frightening aspect of it. If I went out and bagged a pheasant and after cleaning the feathers off tied them up in a bundle to use for training and someone from AC saw it AND they knew I had a "pit" but didn't know I have a friend with a lab, then I run the risk of being accused of having "dog fighting paraphernalia" because so many of the fools that work in AC don't know a damn thing about many of the breeds they have to deal with.

So in other words that's not how you would really train a dog for fighting its just morons doing it who think that its the right way? I highly doubt any dogs were harmed in the making of the video I think that would be illegal.

One of my friends had a rescued dane that was used as a bait dog. She said they use to tape his mouth shut and let the dogs chew him up
