It means to stop selling or giving these dogs to just anyone. It means that just because someone is nice and has taken great care of their Yorkiepoodiddle, it doesn't mean that they need to let their heart bleed all over a "pit bull" so they can cry over the injustice of it all.
It means keep these dogs in the hands of the people that have proven they are responsible enough and passionate enough to own them. Personally, I'd rather see the APBT die off than become what it's on the road to becoming. Even if it means I won't ever own another APBT, I'd rather that the see the world become even more flooded with all the English Bulldog wanna-bes and other grotesque creations that are called "pit bulls". |

too many of these dogs are in the hands of irresponsible folks.. it is now our job, the job of those who love and care for this breed to see to it that the situation does not get worse.. make sure that we do not contribute to the problem and that only folks who have the ability and knowledge to properly handle and care for these dogs get them..
quit supporting no kill shelters and pounds who take these dogs and give them to fur mommies who will not handle them correctly... and in the long run contribute to the ever increasing bad reputation that the dogs do not deserve...and BSL... |

sounds very much like your trying to shut the door after the horse has bolted...........
had some of these so called " good ol boys " been a touch more responsible and less plain greedy you might not be having this conversation.......we had the same over here and it proved too late for us as well. i guess some things just have to get worse before they can get better..... |

Okay but my question is if you close the circle what about the future people who may not have had an APBT but are serious about the breed and would like to own one and are responsible dog owners. Well then they will never get the chance to have the wonderful breed known as the APBT. Just a thought. I mean if you close the circle eventually all the current responsible known APBT people will one day die off and then there will be no new people to take on the breed. Couldn't that in the end hurt the breed more. I mean when I see people say close the circle its almost like they are saying if you haven't owned an APBT than you shouldn't. Just a thought.

It's kind of like the people who play WoW or GW and like to run around calling everyone "noobs" never stopping to think that at some point in time they were one too. People with some common sense, prior experience with animals, and who pay attention to what they hell they are doing will educate themselves and be able to manage whatever breed you throw at them. Unfortunately those are often not the kind of people who end up getting dogs like Doberman's, APBT's, Mastiff's, and so on. |

Close the circle doesn't mean you can't "get into" the circle just means don't give or sell the dogs willy-nilly. ---------- Post added at 07:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:05 PM ---------- Close the circles folk's! Like was stated we ain't going to be around forever and all of us ain't grow up with the dogs they only found us later in life... now if a person came to me to talk dogs and already knew what they were about and what blood they wanted and all the basics but didn't have any or whatever then I would consider that person to be in already (doesn't mean I'd hook them up with a dog, though) but the youngins comming up should have the chance to know them too, and it would be good to pass the torch.
