Default dog/cat rivalry
Last night after we put Daisy to bed in her crate and she settled down we were upstairs when we heard her suddenly start barking like crazy.. hyper urgent psycho-dog barking, diff than the usual 'but im not tired come play with me' barking so we came down to see what her deal was.. My oldass cat was sitting right in front of her crate, just staring her down!! LOL what a bitch! so much for being scared of the dog like she acts when we're around.. so far ive been only focusing on daisy leaving her alone, and convincing kay (the cat) not to be scared to come around.. but i guess now i should teach "leave it" to the cat too. lol.

Cats are untrainable a-holes. Daisy will just have to get used to it.

Hey now! Cats are very trainable, they just take more effort and have different motivators. I have a cat that's actually pretty well trained. Of course, I do call him my catdog.

Easy there LOL. I have two cats who, IMO, are very well trained. They know what 'go upstairs' means, which I use often if they're downstairs (I have my upstairs gated off) and them & the dogs are driving me nuts playing together.

Anyone want to help train my a-holes cats to stay off the counter and stop licking the dishes in the sink?

Oh gaud... she is SO bad. You'd kill her before shipping her back! She's damn lucky she's adorable!

Well I have a cat who was bottle fed by me, and raised by a ferret from 3 weeks of age. She's picked up the ferret soullessness, so she isn't quite a cat. She's 3 now. As far as cat training goes, she only responds to "Toilet Cat, get away from the door".

This is her ferret daddy, my old man Steve (Sir Madmartigan, the Weasel King).

She's the only cat I've had that hasn't driven me insane. All my old cats live with my mom now, which is probably for the best (they couldn't cope with the dogs). I'm not much of a cat person but for some reason, I need to have a cat.

Sounds like Cross.... He will stand his ground, regardless of the dog. Cooper, the dog I'm fostering, has gone from being afraid of the cats, to all of a sudden, realizing that he has prey drive and this is what he's supposed to chase...

Earlier, Cross was coming into the living room, and Cooper was in here. He jumps on the second tier of the cat stand, and before I can get up, Cooper has jumped onto the bottom tier of the cat stand.. Cross would not move. He was just standing his ground, growling and hissing, trying to scare Cooper off the cat stand. I swear, one day, that cat is going to be somebody's lunch, and I can't say as I blame the dogs, half the time, Cross asks for it.

I must be the most blessed person alive to have such dog savvy cats!
I never have so much as a squabble with cats vs dogs.
I have ranted forever about the need to get a small enough kitty not to be afraid of a dog and let them grow up around the dogs and that must be the key.
My cats can eat side by side with the dogs and actually bat dog kibble out of the bowl while the dogs are eating! The only time they are not loved on is when cat wants in my lap where dog might be, then dog says NOPE.
Cat says %$^$#%&*** and stalks away. LOL

The white dog is Frannie who now resides with my son and his 2 kitties.
