Default Soothing daily routines.
So, as a general rule, I'm sure all of us dog owners have daily routines as far as the dogs are concerned. Some of these I do without a second though, others I look forward to, and some I don't enjoy but do anyway

My 'favorite' routines are walks and dinner time

Walks, because I do a lot of my heavy thinking and we work on training. I also just feel like I'm communing more closely with the dogs, especially if it is just one on one walks.

Dinner time...well, its actually very relaxing. Dinner is when they get all of their supplements, so there is grinding, mixing, measuring...it takes about 20 minutes to get their food ready I just kind of zone out while I'm doing it, and I always feel better by the time I give the dogs their bowls.

Does anyone else have moments/things like this, or am I just really strange? (Well, we know I'm really strange, but humor me!)

Lily gets me up at 5:30. I let her outside. She pees, then comes in. I feed her. Then Liberty and I go upstairs to the upstairs kitchen and I feed her. Then I go back downstairs and let Lily out to poop. Usually by the time Lily's ready to come in from pooping, Liberty comes downstairs to go outside. She does her business then comes back in.
Then Liberty lays in her bed, Lily gets back in bed with me, and we all go back to sleep.
Total time: 10 minutes.

That's the only routine we really have, but we run it like clockwork. It always takes us exactly 10 minutes.

I like it, maybe because I'm half asleep the whole time. But I like when life runs smoothly, and that's really the only time of day that I can be assured that everything will run smooth as silk.

We really do not have a routine at my house. Feeding time is crazy at my house. My favorite time is when everythibg is calm on the dogs just want cuddle time.

We don't really have a routine.

But I do love meal time. Something about the sound of the dogs eating their kibble is very comforting.

Hmmmm... Probably the most "soothing" routine is letting Jake lick my feet when I hop into bed. Nobody else will let him lick their feet, but I really don't care (secretly, I kinda like it). I just find it soothing and comforting, and we do it at least a couple times a week (depends if I've changed things up by sleeping in a different bed, or even if Jake's even near me when I plunk down on the bed)

Another little one is just waking up and looking over and seeing Jake snoring away on his bed. It's such a little thing, but I find myself feeling disappointed when he's not there, having already gotten up and started his day. When he's there, and he sees me looking at him, he'll sometimes streeeeeeetch and show a cute kissy face.

This is the favorite part of my day: When I start waking up, Socrates jumps in bed and licks mine and my BF's faces for a second, then he stretches out between us, wagging his tail, and gets some serious belly and back rubbin' for about 10 minutes. Then, I get my coffee, do a little cleaning, and start walk #1.

I love meal time! Last night was my favorite. Our neighbor just got back from deployment so I hadn't met him. I carried out a plate with about 5 pounds of chicken on it. He asked if we were having a big BBQ. I told him no while I put two chicken breast on the grill and then fed the rest of the chicken to the dogs. Oh that look was priceless. But I did get to do some educating on raw diets and "Evil pit bulls"

I like right before I go to bed. The cats have mellowed out and are using me as a sleeping tree and Puck is somewhat still on his sofa enjoying a bone or just looking at me sleepily. I have done everything I needed to do for the day, the animals are happy and I am relaxed. Low lights, quiet movie or music, a cup of hot tea.

We have a routine every day. Let them go outside and in and outside and in and so on you get the picture.

Seriously though we feed Dixie in the morning since she's a puppy and they all get fed in the afternoon and what they don't finish we give it to them at night and then cookies about 2 hours later.

Depending on the weather they get one on one walks earlier in the day and that's soothing to me as feeding them is and watching tv and cuddling with them.

They also get a lot of play time in the front yard since it's huge and chase each other around. Buster can't keep up with them and would rather ignore Dixie & Rudy. He loves the outdoors though.

My favorite routines are waking up in the morning to Doofus I'm not a big morning person but I always get a smile when I see how optimistic and excited he is just to start another day, (I freaking love dogs). Our evening walks also, same as you, we do some training and I just like to think, maybe smoke a doobie. And then after our walk and dinner, it's cuddle time, which basically means I watch some tv, or read, with my feet up on my pooped pooch Still trying to get him to lick my feet though Aussie, I'm jealous

Your day starts out just like mine...except for the BF thing. I have a GF, haha

When the alarm clock goes off, she comes over and jumps right in between us.
