I prefer real life photos myself, unless the artist is AMAZING. I'm too picky when it comes to drawings/paintings, so I just go with real pictures.

I had this done of Wilson & Piper at (of all places) Picture People in the mall. I have individuals of each of them as well. BF & I are in a bunch too; spent about $100 for like 8 different prints, money well spent IMO.

Someone (JBorders22786) did a sketch of Mollie for me... I want it put on my tombstone when I die...

It was from this picture.

Default Seriously thinking about it!
I got a check for my birthday from my inlaws and I have been tossing around what I want to buy with it. My birthday is in a lil over 2 weeks and its a big one...35 so I want to do something special for myself.

I am messing around checking the CL pet ads as many of us do and I find
http://www.studiosrv.com/

Seriously thinking about having Ike and Rita done to hang in my livingroom. Thoughts?

Should I do real life portrait or caricature?

Anyone else ever had a painting of their dogs done?

Hmm, maybe I should go realistic, then...

I loved the parrot on your site, Mstng! Thats my next big want. I want a parrot, prefer an African Grey. I think I will wait a bit, though, as the kids and dogs are about my limit for the moment when it comes to things I have to give attention to,lol

I thought about that, Ganja, but part of it is that I have absolutely nothing on my walls in my livingroom. Nada, zip, zilch. I just always thought what you put on your wall should reflect you as a person and I never found anything I liked. Then i saw the paintings and it clicked! We're dog people, we love our dogs, they are a huge part of our lives and we think they are very attractive, so why not?

The other part of it is we have a canvas painting in vibrant colors like the ones used in the site that was done by my sister in law of my husband and his 4 siblings. I could frame it and hang it in the dining room so it would be of the same theme color wise as the one(s) of the dogs.

But then i am really not that fond of that painting which is why its not already framed... Hubby's family isn't close at all.

GAH! Decisions suck! Of course, the hubby has no opinion. He couldn't care if I put up 80's Police posters or nothing at all. Typical man, just a bear with furniture...

Thanks, Beth, but I am in Michigan

I am also trying real hard to figure out how you got 4 dogs to pose so nicely! I have been trying forever with my 2 and my brothers 2 but someone always looks away or shifts just before I click

I got a characture done of piper at an adopt a pet fund raiser for $10. We colored it in later on the computer. I thought it really captured her personality at the time.

Picture taken on the same day
