Default Moving predicament
The place I'm currently renting is going to be foreclosed in 90 days because my landlord is an *expletive deleted* and I am having a hard time finding a place without breed specifications in the lease. I contacted one young lady who printed ok for all pets in her add. When I told her I had a pit bull mix she quickly changed her mind.

Next time I'm able to find an affordable place that allows pets I think I'm going to try passing him off as some other mix breed. A breeder I know told me he thought he might be able to pass for a Dalmatian, Great Dane mix.

Here is a link to the pictures of Gus I've uploaded.

What does everyone think?

I think you should be honest. Meet the potential landlord first and take with you your dog's shot record, letter from your vet, and any training certs. Will your current landlord be willing to write a letter for you? That may help tremendously. Ask the potential landlord if he/she will agree to meet your dog. If he/she meets a well behaved dog, and you have references, your chances are pretty good.
Good Luck.

Renting With Your Dog Regardless of Breed - General Dog Discussions

Also, it will look good to your land lord if you can get renter's insurance that will cover your dog.

Also, try people who have "no pets" in their ads. Some of them are just concerned with property damage and may be willing to make an exception for you if you add an extra deposit for the dog and pay a lil more each month. Training certificates and letters from the current landlord about how good and non destructive the dog is are a help there.

Have you checked craigslist? I found a place there willing to take my brothers 2 APBT for an extra $40 per month per dog and a $250 non-refundable pet deposit.
