your right,,i do.and i know that they are,im not blind, but thats beside the point, why was the pup pulled from the bitch so early, thats the point, when pulling a pup so early, there is less of a chance that it will ever reach its genetic potential if any, thats the point

Please do not take this personal and maybe what they said was offensive but is there something wrong with having a mutt? I would love him no matter what if he was mutt or pedigree they both are loveable in our own personal eyes. I consider Beastley a mutt because I have no idea where he came from, I do not have papers on him he was deposited at my door to babysit and they never came back. I love him all the same. I think what he was trying to be offensive to was people who breed ONLY for profit and not for the well being of the pups. Not that you chose to love the one u will be getting

theres nothing wrong with having a mutt, but like i said, why pull it from the bitch so young, when it hasnt been given the proper amount of time with her.doing this at an early stage could greatly reduce the chances of the dog reaching its genetic potential

Well think what ever you want....to each his own!

Just ignore him Roddy! There are some people that have their own opinions on bullies! And to the people that call them mutts, id like to know how the hell they come up with that shit because EVERY breed has to be mixed with another to come up with a whole new breed! Bullies are still a fairly new breed, and i guess we have to just give some people time to accept them...

yeh you can ignore me,but you cant ignore the fact that you would actually reduce the chances of the pup reaching its genetic potential from pulling off the bitch too early, but like you said,to each his own,but id be the one who waits for the pup being done with the bitch before i pull it

7 weeks isnt really that young to leave most bitches wean pups themself by 6 weeks and I've known some to do it by 4 weeks. the reason people shouldnt get them too young is actually because they benefit from littermate interaction and discipline. I've had very young puppies though and none turned out any different then the ones ive gotten at an older age. not saying they should be taken that early just saying it's never affected them in my experience. OP is just looking for help why chase him off.

id say they are getting it from a back yard breeder and my guess is it will either be unknown blood or razors edge from what the breeder told them
There is no reason for this statement. The OP is asking for help, not asking to be criticized.

Yes, the optimal time for a pup to be weaned is at least 8 weeks. There are pups that have done quite well when taken away from their mum at 5 weeks and that is treading on dangerous ground.

Socialization is very important. Introduce your pup to as many people as possible and remember not to allow your pup in public places until it is fully vaccinated.

some folks like ambullies, I have seen one or two that looked good to me...
you have your pup now, so it is a little too late to worry about whether you should have waited a few weeks or not.. just make the best of what you have and enjoy the dog...
waiting a few weeks longer is quite common among good reputable breeders, more for socialization and learning proper behavior from the interaction with the other pups and the mother...
some folks get upset because of so many low quality back yard breeders out there who do not take care of business right, and are just looking for a quick buck and often get rid of the pups as soon as they can...
even if that were the case here, it is the breeder that deserves the ass chewing and not you....
hang in here and get what info you need to enable yourself to be a responsible owner and take the best care of your new friend...
I figure that the 1%er is a little rough around the edges and lacks social communication skills, but means good for your pup....so cut the "brother" (in terms of club membership) some slack.... he probably suffering from riding a bitch bike...

If possible, leave the pup with the mother until it's 8 weeks old.. it will be better for the pup in the long run.

As far as the kibble, you can go with Wellness Core, but no need to feed "large breed". The APBT is really not a "large breed", think Great Dane or Mastiff, those are large breeds.

Make sure you get your pup to the vet as soon as you get it, don't wait a couple of weeks. Puppies are at a huge risk for Parvo, so if possible, get an appointment for the day you bring him home, or the day after. I like to take mine to the vet within 3-4 days after getting them, but I haven't had a puppy-puppy since Mollie was a pup, so 5+ years since I've had to worry about Parvo. But you will want to start that first round of puppy shots as soon as you can.

Other than that, are you going to crate train your pup? If so, (which I would suggest at least for when you are gone from home), you can go ahead and get your crate and get it set up. Wear a shirt for a couple of days, or sleep in the same shirt for several nights, so you can put it in the crate with your pup so he will get your smell and it will comfort him when you are gone. Also, you can go ahead and stock up on some toys, Nylabones, and my favorite toy for this breed, the Souper Galileo Bone, a must have for these strong chewers, and a great toy that is well worth what it cost! PetSmart and PetCo both sell them, you can get the small one for now, but as your pup ages, you will definitely need the Souper size, as they will be able to destroy the regular size ones when they are full grown. Tug toys, ropes.... all good toys. Avoid rawhides, as they can choke on them, or get chunks of them lodged in their airway and block their breathing, so I avoid them. I only get pig ears every blue moon, and always supervise if you give your dog one. The pup will probably like them for now, and can gnaw on them without it hurting them for now. Your pup will chew a LOT!!! So the Nylabones and stuff will be good "teethers" for him. Bella had a stuffed Hippo that she toted everywhere, until she discovered it had stuffies!! So a stuffed animal for him to cuddle/play with will be good, and you can check Goodwill for cheap stuffed toys. They also may have cheap blankets that you can get to put in your pups crate, and also one to cover it. Covering the crate gives them a "den" like feeling, and can prevent whining at night. I always cover Bella's crate, she never makes a sound if I cover her, but if I leave her uncovered, she bellows like a stuffed hog!!

As always, you'll have a million questions after you get your pup home... and we'll be here to help any way we can!

it he pup's already 7 weeks, I don't think you'll have much trouble compared to an 8 or 10 week old pup really

now if the pup would have been 5 weeks, that's another thing!

however, with your pup having chaos/gotti bloodlines, you do not have an apbt but most likely an american bully.

love your pup for what he is, I don't know if he's a mutt or not (if he's from a BYB you'll never know unfortunately) but it's not a bad thing to own mutts.
my best dog ever Rokai (RIP) was a mutt lol

post up some pics of your cutie when you can

and I am NOT saying your dog IS a mutt neither, don't get me wrong on this one! lol
