Default First dog jog here
I got an email from a friend who said we are having our very first dog jog here.. you have to put an application in and what not.. but ok.. then I read, pitbulls, rotties, and dobies are banned from it! WTF? we dont have a ban or any restrictions here, so why are they banned from the dog jog? Its sad - I was excited.. I thought *good, I can take Spinner and Bandit and let them socialize while showing others they are not that bad* and now I cant even go!

I mean, I guess it's good. Why bring a breed predisposed to DA to a large group of unknown dogs. It's like a dog park, but on leash. I wouldn't do it.

I belong to a dog walking group. We get together at various state parks in the area and walk for an hour and a half. The organizers are two dog trainers and teach people how to handle their dogs around other dogs and people. They even made a video on how to introduce two dogs to one another. They used my APBT, Bubba and a dog he hadn't met before. The video is available on the website Vimeo. Just search ''Lead The Way'' and go to ''A Walk In The Park''. Bubba is the fawn Apbt!
Or you can see it on Facebook on my profile page ''Samuel Sheets''.

No, but they could say they need muzzled or something.. not banned from it.

I guess you could be right.. there are a lot of idiots locally who think their dog should be badass and if all of them showed up - it might not be a good event.. but still - it wouldnt be so heartbreaking if they put stipulations on it instead of just banning them all together.

I wouldnt take Tink to something like that - because she is DA to dogs not in the home.. but Bandit is 15 weeks old.. nothing wrong in taking him on a leash.. but I guess a lot of idiots who dogs are DA would take them!
