Default How many times do you breed your dog?
where I'm from some people have a tendency to breed the female dogs 3 to 6 times with the one male dog...does this help in the breeding or is just one stick good enough?

Do you mean....how many times do you breed your dog....a YEAR, or do you mean how many times do you breed your dog in one "breeding?"

It all depends on if they are both worthy dogs and the breeding between those two seem to produce worthy dogs as well, then one might breed those dogs quite a few times.

If it's just breeding to breed, and not paying attention to results, then it isn't right, imo.

As far as myself, I bred my dog one time too many, and that was only once.

But in the future if I have a worthy dog, I will bred it to a worthy dog, and depending on how the first litter turns out, I may or may not do the breeding a second time.

CHJ, I think the OP is asking how many times you breed the dogs during a single breeding?
I will stick with jsorrow, and say if you are here to ask these type of questions you should not breed. I don't think there are a lot of internet mentors around.

I can not honestly say that i know the intentions of the op, but I must agree that if one has to ask that question on the internet.. that one should not be breeding their dog to begin with.. but that is just my opinion

None.

But really, I have to agree with the others that if you need to ask a question like that, you don't need to be breeding your dogs.

Please reconsider your situation and learn more before you get in over your head.

It has been proven that spaying the dog prior to breeding her makes really healthy pups. Don't listen to these people health screenings? working titles? honestly who needs that. Get the dog spayed and then breeder her =) you will have some nice dogs to make cash from.

To answer the question, one tie is certainly enough to get a dog pregnant, but not always, sometimes the bitch won't take... Some breeders do several ties over several days.

But of course you need to have your dog's health checked, hips/elbows heart and eyes are a good place to start, would not want to pass on any health problems that you can't see with the naked eye to a puppy...

Do you show or work your dogs to prove them breedworthy?

If you mean "tie", then it depends. Usually at least, twice, just to make sure, do one tie, wait a day, then do another tie, though, some people like to be safe with a third.

I don't think the OP is wanting to breed, though, I can be wrong. I think they are just asking. I thought they were asking how many times you should breed a female.

Of course they show AND work them, all health tests are done and everything.... they just don't know how to go about the actual breeding that's all.

They are going to breed that big blue dog in their avatar.

Shakaz, people learn by asking. Be happy that this person is here, trying to learn.

I think you're right, CHJ...

According to their album it looks like they already breed. Bulldogs and APBT's. What would that mix be called?

You are right to an extent Poisoned. At the same time if they REALLY wanted to know why not go to a library check out a book on breeding, how to do it what to expect what to do when the dam won't nurse, how to handle a breech birth all in that book, instead of comming online with that question to get an easy response? Next question, when do I make the tie because some people say when she is bleeding and some say after?

ShakaZ, if you notice the users location, they aren't in you know, Florida or something where there are bulldog breeders to talk to around every corner.

When I have a question regarding dogs, I come here. Getting several opinions quickly instead of walking to the library and tracking down a book that might have an answer... I take the easy, time-saving way.

I'd say a Bully/APBT would be a Bully/APBT

Bullies*
Were you asking just out of curiosity, or do you plan on breeding?
