Epic fail? I thought the Twilight series was good. ![]() Anyway, to me, Twilight was just so...mediocre. I could’ve read a fan fiction with better quality. I mean, Edward taking the engine out of Bella’s truck so she wouldn’t go anywhere? Doesn’t that sound a bit..off? Watching her while sleeping? Sparkling like his skin was diamond incrusted when he hit the light? And, in high school, since when has the new girl been the instant success and everyone fawns over. To me, Bella had no life other than Edward. Her LIFE was Edward. Other than clumsiness(which was only, in my opinion, in the book because it’s easy to make her clumsy and get her ‘saved’) she had no REAL character traits. S.Meyer said she liked to read. When was she ever being said to be reading a book? Well, for sake of saving this post.. My pit is fluffy. .......On the inside. I think. |

I'm thinking about buying one of his shirts that say "Built Fluffy Tough." After all, if you can't embrace who you are ... lol. I used to really trip about the weight I've gained over the years (gained 50 lbs alone when I was put on Depakote!

Well. I haven’t even took a second glance at ANY S.Meyer books since the epic fail that is Twilight. But like everyone else said..a pitbull isn’t fluffy. Trust me. I have two other fluffball doggies and Princess is nothing like them. But maybe you would like The Host, because Stephenie was actually creative this time, and I never noticed near as many of her annoying, crappy writing habits. I actually felt involved with the story, and caught myself feeling sympathetic, angry, sad, etc.. And I think it is a good transaction from teen-fiction to a more adult audience. But that's just me. ![]() |

I didn't like that series either. It wasn't the actual story I had a problem with, I like supernatural-romance stuff.. But in these books, the idea wasn't executed well. Not to mention the lack of character development and other basic elements and structure of a good book. Her repetitive use of the same adjectives and adverbs took my life.. It was also kind of weird how the whole stalker-overprotective-watch-you-while-you-sleep boyfriend is portrayed as a good thing, especially since this series appeals to a lot of teen girls, who now probably have that false idea of the "perfect" relationship. ![]() ![]() |

It is Stephenie's first book for adults, so it definitely lacks a lot of annoying things you would find in books with a more teenage fanbase.. It actually has depth and is really thought-provoking, IMO. There is romance.. but it is conflicted in a whole new, twisted way. The characters are decently developed and actually have distinct personalities, unlike in SM's other books. But who knows, some will like it and some may not, but yeah I would encourage anyone to at least give it a try... I began reading it with some pretty low expectations, because I thought, once again, "here is a great concept/premise for a story that could be really awesome and Stephenie is going to slaughter it," but now it is one of my top 20 favorite reads. (I'm a total bookworm so 20 is a very small percentage of books that I've read) Hope you like it!

What's it about? ![]() I hope I wrote that clearly enough.. You'd probably understand it better if you just read the back of the book rather than listen to me babbling trying to explain something, lol. |
