well the people gave her to me way to early! when i called them they told me she was 8 weeks when i got there they said well she is 6 weeks i could clearly tell this puppy was 4 weeks i took because regardless if i took her or not they were going to sell her so i took her because i have bottle fed pups and raised a litter of newborns when their mommy passed away

Mine sucks on blankets while she sleeps. I just figured she was taken from her mom too young. I got her at 3 years, so the only backstory I know is that she was found wandering in the Bronx with a collar & no tags, and nobody came to claim her. ---------- Post added at 07:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:50 PM ---------- lol she could be entertained by that laser for hours haha she is such a character we looove her |

As people have alluded, if a puppy is taken from her mother too early (before 7-8 weeks), they may have some oral fixations (i.e., sucking fingers, blankets, etc). The oral fixation may also include more play biting and chewing than normal so teaching bite inhibition early on becomes much more important specially if there are kids in the house.
awe im sure shes glad you claimed her since no one did! thats cute she sucks on a blanket do you have any pic of her?
I don't have any of her sucking on blankets, but I posted some pictures of her letting my new kitten "nurse" off her in the photo forum. She's a super lucky dog. She was about 6 hours from being put down by NYACC when I saw her rescue listing. Two days later, she was living in the NJ suburbs. Somebody else's loss is my gain. She's sweet as hell and came obedience-trained and housebroken. |
