Default Dog sitting
Well I was going to dog sit for a friend of mine this week he has Bruiser a pit mix and Roxy a German Shepard well he came over yesterday to drop the dogs off keep in mind the dogs have been around each other on several occasions and the only issue has been Bruiser likes to Bark at people playing he also Whines to get attention he is very vocal way more than my dogs are and Abby sometimes gets irritated by his whinning but has always been manageable. Well yesterday it was not bruiser started being vocal and Abby got pissed luckily I seen it in her body movement and walked over to her and grabbed her just as she was go after bruiser no barking no growling or anything out of Abby but I noticed she changed her stance and body language I was only about two feet away from her. Well I had her collar she sat down and I blocked her view of Bruiser and she seemed calm then bruiser barked at her and she began to pull and whine wanting to get at him. Well decided to separate the two then we took all the dogs on a nice long walk this was Abby and Marlos 3rd walk of the day. I took the lead with my two and James followed with his then we swapped so he was leading I was following and everything got calm dogs are doing good we began walking next to each other dogs walked normal like they had always done and seemed to be well exercised and tired once we got home everyone was Happy in the back yard we are sitting down drinking some water the dogs have separate water bowls in different parts of the yard. and Bruiser barks again Abby gets pissed and I grab her collar and she is whining and whimpering tryin to get me to let go. no barking just the whining and pulling and then would stop and as soon as she thought I was not paying attention sh would try and go I still had her collar needless to say I am not dog sitting this week but I do have to go over and let the dogs out and walk them and his brother will also come by let them out and feed them he is not comfortable walking Bruiser and Roxy. Roxy and Abby are fine its just bruiser I think it might be his energy is bad he is a rescue dog so unknown breeding and his whining and barking seem excessive to me maybe he has some stability and nervous issues. everyone gets along great Abby just can not stand for Bruiser to bark and whine. like he does.
I think my days of dog sitting bruiser are over not worth the hassle to me and no need to stress Abby out and really do not need the dog fight so it must end.

Abby sounds stressed and irritated from Bruiser and yes, might add to a fight. I think it's a good idea you don't dog sit for Bruiser anymore

I dog sit, and if they don't get along, I just rotate them. I actually just dog sat my friends GINORMOUS lab mix male and her cute little tiny maybe staffy mix female. Tank would literally KILL her boy. It's crate and rotate! lol

Its better for the dogs to be in Separate homes I do not crate Abby and would rather not start . I will just stop over in the afternoon and walk the dogs and his brother can spend a hour in the morning letting them play and then he comes over later in the evening to feed and let them out again He lives right around the corner
