Ive seen puppies like yours. As she gets older she will lose some of the brown but not all. They tend to keep a little brown in their coats. Its still a very beautiful dog.

Default Do Blue coated dogs have Brown Highlights?
Meg just turned 4 months today ... and lost her first baby tooth last night ..

As she is getting older I notice that in the sunlight her coat has a brown highlight to it ... out of the sun it appears just dark gray (blue). Is it typical for Blue dogs to have brown highlights ???

Bella is a brindle, and she looks black inside, but outside, in the sun she looks more of a chocolate color. Post up some pictures in our Photo Section so we can get a good look at her.

With some of the suspicians of what may have gone into some dogs, I wouldn't be surprised if some had horns.

Of course she can have it. you can get some weird coloring and mixes of colors in these dogs my Abby is black but if the sun hits just right you will see some chocolate brown strips may have a brindle somewhere along the lines and that is what you are seeing small signs of that coming out the coloring of these dogs is endless... She sure is cute puppy

Wow. She's cute. Does she have some lab in her?

I used to have a cat that was black with blacker stripes. You could see it especially in the sunlight. Weirdest thing ive ever seen! haha

Thanks. She had 3 black siblings and 2 blue siblings. The other 2 blues in the litter were much lighter than her. She was a darker blue so we picked her.

Well I didn't see mom. Saw dad. He was definitely a pit. Seller said both parents were pits. No idea what's in her family tree.

Well see, i used to have a lab/pit mix. She kinda reminded me of him because of her face and tail.

Might just be me though, lol.

I was wondering if she was all pit. But after looking at lots of Internet pictures there are plenty of pits out there that look like her identical twin so I'm pretty sure she is.

She's very cute! My girl is blue and in the sunlight and certain indoor lighting, she has brownish highlights in areas as well.

on my dogs ped it says "buckskin with black mask" but I really think it should be "blue fawn".
he has black at his chin, but IMO he has a blue-ish mask (very small though) but I can't seem to capture it on camera that good...
it's obvious when you see him in person, but it's damn hard to capture lol
he has some blue around his eyes to...

this is approx how it appears when you see him in person:

but even here, his mask isn't that ovbious as in person... and it's the picture where it shows best...

and this is how it's captured on camera most of the time:

so yes I suppose it's possible

I should add he had a black mask when was younger I have pics of him at 1 month old where he has a black mask...
