Default Pitbull-Friendly Apartments in L.A., California
Hello Everyone,
I am planning on moving to L.A., California in March 2010. The problem (which is a stupid problem to have) is that my family dog that I love is a pitbull. How unfair, right?! Anyways I was really needing some help from the people on this forum. Does anyone know of any pitbull-friendly apartments in West L.A. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
Ashley

I want to wish you the best of luck finding an apartment. We have to move next month as well and I am a nervous wreck about finding a place that will take two pit bulls.

Welcome, Ashley.

I have the following suggestions - your best bet would be to search Craigs List for private landlords (as opposed to large, 'corporate' ones). You may want to emphasize to potential landlords that you have/will get renters insurance that protects such landlords from liability.

Also, the Pasadena (CA) Humane Society maintains a list of 'Pit Friendly' properties (I do not have link handy).

Best of luck!

Hey Ashley,

Check-out "Westside Rentals" they have an option on the site for dog friendly apartments plus they have the renting monopoly on the west side of L.A.

So your moving to the west side hopefully no where near santa monica and cahuenga.

Welcome to LA

Thanks everyone!

I'm moving near the Mar Vista area. A few of my really good friends just moved out there a month ago.

I live in LA and I'm looking for apartments as we speak. I have to be out of my current place by the end of the month. It's slim pickings but there are places out there.

Ive been running into the same problem, actually its a 2 part problem - most places have weight restrictions on the dog and if I am lucky enough to find a place that will allow a dog over 25lbs I then run into the ever growing list of breed restrictions - with pit being at the top of the list =( its very frustrating.
