Default what's her problem?
Hi, I'm Angela. Mom of 3 two-leggers and 3 four-leggers. I've had pits for about 6 years now and love them. However, I have 1 that has lost her mind recently and we're not real sure what step to take with her. I'm not real familier with bloodlines, but I do know that she has Boudroux and Chinaman breeding.

Can you give some details about what happened and what you're trying to accomplish?

I've had pits for about 6 years now, Miss Piggy is about 3, I've raised her and she's helped raise my kids. She's been a great dog, well mannered, doesn't chase the horses, never been people aggressive. Her last litter of pups was born about 4 months ago. Since they were born, she has become real prejudice towards other dogs. My boyfriend has hunting dogs, blackmouth curr, walkers and cattahulas, whom she has always lived side by side with and has never showed aggression towards them either. However, in the past 2 months she has killed 5 of them.. Never touching the other pits or her pups. She's done this before, after her previous litter. She's Boudroux and Chinaman breeding.. Is this typical of her breeding? She has an appointment next week to be fixed.. I hope this ends her reign of terror. By the way to everyone else, she's her same sweet self.

She is maturing and becoming dog aggressive (typical of the breed) and with a litter of pups around it could increase her DA tendencies (especially with dogs she's unfamiliar with).

Not sure why you'd let her kill 4 more after the first one?!? And gamebred at that - you should know about and expect DA to be in the picture. Time to keep her separated from the other dogs.

It's taken five dead dogs for you to realize she's dog aggressive?

Dog aggression. Very easy to manage and deal with. Keep her away from other dogs. It's really that simple.

And do a search for DA. It's a very common trait with "pit bulls" and pretty much all terrier breeds and bulldog breeds.

You have only had pit bulls for 6 years and have bred your 3 year old female twice. She has killed 5 dogs and you don't know why???????

And people wonder why these dogs are being banned across the country.

Hope I'm not out of line in answering this: Her APBT (from apparent game lines) is attacking her other dogs and has killed 5 of them so far. Best advice is to keep them separated from now on. WOW!

yeah- like as in kennel or chain her AWAY from the other dogs...

why did it take so many dogs to get killed? it's sort of an obvious answer to an obvious problem!

and how come the OP is breeding the dog?

If you're talking about people, DA DOES NOT = HA. If you're talking about the other dogs, why would you trust her around ANY other dogs when she's already killed 5.
I still don't understand why it took 5 dogs to die for you to realize something was wrong....

exactly.

6 years of bulldog (APBTs) experienced and it took 5 dead dogs to realize what her problem was?

Do you think there's any chance that this is a real post? I feel baited...

As an optimist, I'm going to cling to that!

If not, well, stop feeding your dog other dogs. The experiment failed.

Crate and rotate.

ok I was confused ... the 2 threads got blended here...

OP - all of our frustrations are sincere. Seems this lesson should have been learned much sooner but bottom line is dog aggression is common in these dogs and, despite living peacefully for years, it can rear up at any time, as you have experienced. Little can be done at this point to bring everyone back to living peacefully. The best and safest course of action is basically total separation with her and the other dogs being allowed loose only separately. It sucks when everyone doesn't get along but is a way of life for many.
