Default Do Dogs Have Dreams?
So my pup is sleeping in her crate them I hear making funny sounds almost like she is barking, its hard to describe but some of the sounds are odd. I know its not a seizure, I've had a dog that had those every 3.5 weeks roughly and its totally not the same. Now if I call her name or if I make a sound where she hears me she wakes right up. Just wondering if anyone else heard their dog make weird sounds while they sleep.

I think every dog I've ever owned dreams. My dog gus whines and moves his legs like he's chasing something, and our puppy cooper snores and whines too it's normal behavior. As for waking up every time he hears a noise my dogs do the same thing unless they are in a really deep sleep.

Last night our big dog started to wag her tail while sleeping. Often times she can be seen clearly thinking she is eating something....Hope it tastes good

Yes, our dogs dream. The youngest is funny to watch. All four of her paws get to moving as if she's running or chasing something and her nose twitches and low little barks…so cute. Our older dog that we adopted and had been rescued from an abusive situation appears to occasionally have a nightmare. I say that because she is generally a quite, rarely barks, kind of dog yet she'll bark and growl aggressively in her dreams and her body makes jerky movements. I don't know much about her past other than she was clearly physically abused. It saddens me to think she is reliving painful memories, so I wake her with a calm voice as soon as I notice this happening.

Mine dream, kick, whimper, growl, twitch, run, suckle.... I can hardly sleep for all the commotion. Bella really dreams a lot, I end up every night trying to wake her up and stop dreaming. Sometimes, a little belly scratch will rouse her from her dreams, sometimes not.

For sure dogs have dreams, Tony whines, barks, growls, kicks his legs like he's chasing something, twitches his eyes and lifts his lips like he's growling, sometimes sleep walks. Silly dog dreams
