Default Gypsy the InHaler(not be confused with 'Vlad the Impaler')
Something that makes me laugh and roll my eyes just about every morning and night.

Gypsy eats her food like she isn't ever going to be fed again in her entire life. I put bowls down at the same time(well, they are all fed at the same time), generally her last since she eats the fastest.

She will eat all of her food, then stand there looking at the other dogs and me and she has this expression on her face like "Wheres my food?"

And I really think she believes that I just didn't feed her.

When everyone is done eating, she will walk from bowl to bowl and look inside it and heave this really deep, heartfelt sigh before walking, with her tail and head hung low, to the couch, where she will lay down and just stare at me with the saddest, most woebegone expression ever.

She's ridiculous

Odin is the same way. He will often lick his bowl clean after eating, just to make sure he didn't miss anything. He's really bad when people are around. He'll just sit and stare if they have food and make believe I never feed him. Sometimes, it's embarrassing!

Man that sounds like Brutis. Well after he inhales and licks the bowl clean, if you are not watching, he begins eating the bowl too. Its stainless steel. Gimme a break dog!

Ahhh, the dreaded "you don't love me" sigh.... yeah, I get that too. Mollie and Bella are fed before the humans eat, just to curb the begging.... But I swear, they both act like it's their first meal in a month, and their last one for the rest of the year.

Sometimes, when I feed Bella breakfast, she looks at it and just walks away like she's not eating those disgusting kibbles... then when I come home, she's wolfs it down so fast, I'm like, "there's no way you could eat THAT fast". But alas, she can! Luckily, mine have never been the ones to eat so fast they throw up, they just always have this "I'm really, really starving here" look... and anyone that has ever seen a picture of Mollie clearly knows that couldn't be farther from the truth.

LOL. That is crazy.

Tess will check Notch's bowl, and if he leaves anything, she'll try to eat it. I guess that's why Tess is the fatty of the pack right now. lol.

my guy did that too, I hand fed him small amounts and made him wait, it stoped the behaviour.

Both Jersey and Boston do this, but we still feed them after we have eaten. I notice sometimes that Jersey will nudge Boston out of the way and take the rest of his food. It pisses me off, so I get her out of the way and let Boston go back to it, but he is weird about going back. He will lick her face, and then as he is eating the rest he will look back at her and if I leave the room she is right back at his food. I guess that is just the food chain in my house.

I avoid feeding everyone right next to eachother. Gypsy is fed on one side of the kitchen, Marsha on the other, Mexi in the living area, Umah in front of the door, and Hoss is either put in a crate or in another room with the door shut.

I think if I were to leave the room where everyone has access to everyone else, Marsha would bully Gypsy and Umah out of their food!

One time I tried feeding sam and marley together. They wanted to eat each others food and a little "disagreement" happened. And Im sure Brutis would just try to eat everything. So I feed them in their crates at the same time now.

Our two eat at the same pace and get the same amounts, so it has worked out ok. I have been feeding them in the mornings (usually hubby does) so I guess this morning Zoey was acting normal but Anya was mopey and he called to make sure I actually fed them.

He is convinced she is still hungry and we should be feeding them more. It is a constant conversation around our house and I tell him to look at them, neither is wasting away to nothing. Then Zoey got soft poop again and I've been concerned and so I started asking him about when he feeds them. The scoop we use is roughly 1.5 cups, so we started using that. When I feed them, I shake it level. I asked him what he does and he said whatever he scoops he feeds (doesn't shake it level). No wonder Zoey is having problems again!!

He says he feels sorry for them cause they just look at him all sad eyes and such so he figures that way they are getting a little more. It makes me question myself but then I go back through everything and they are getting adequate food and both look really good, so I know I am doing good. Darn beggars though - and he is fool enough to fall for puppy dog eyes.

Ha ha. Ruby tricked me into feeding her twice recently. DH had fed her already and I didn't hear it and the hobag led me all the way down the hall and to her bowl acting starving and convinced me to fill her bowl AGAIN! oops

I love the title of this thread !!!

I too have an "inhaler" ....Maisy.
I've timed her, it takes her 7sec. to suck down her food.

While the other two are still eating at their leisure and actually tasting their food....Maisy is pacing around waiting for them to finish so she can go check out their dishes as well.....

I think I'd give her a biscuit as "dessert" after she's checked all the bowls. Maybe knowing that there would be a bit more food coming her way would help her depression. Who knows why she acts the way she does, maybe something in her past, or just a quirk of her own, but it's real and it makes her sad. I have a hound mix who is sad unless she gets the last bite of my dinner. She has known want, so I'm ok with that and so are the other dogs. Cassie perks up after her "last bite" and is ready to go out, or take a nap.

Ha, Umah eats at what I consider a normal, healthy pace. It takes her about ten minutes to eat 2.5 cups of kibble. Mexi takes FOREVER to eat, even if she is eating steadily it takes her close to 45 minutes to finish a bowl that has 3 cups in it.

Gypsy just really loves to eat, and it makes her sad when there is nothing left to eat. After they eat I'll give the broken ones (Gypsy, Mexi and Hoss) their pain pills, and a cookie, so everyone else gets a cookie too. So she does get 'dessert' in a sense, lol.

I have 2 kitchens, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. I feed Lily downstairs, then Liberty and I go upstairs so I can feed her. I'm usually not even done preparing Liberty's food before I hear Lily at the kitchen door, patiently waiting until Liberty is done (and she is quite patient, never makes a noise, just sits there and waits). Then Liberty opens the door when she's done and Lily does a hell of job cleaning every last spot, including half the kitchen floor. Who needs a vacuum when you have a puppy?
I was thinking of getting those bowls that have little separaters in them. This makes the dog eat around the separaters and forces them to slow down.
