About a year and a half ago we started having problems with Lucy and dog aggression. She was fine as long as the other dog was not nervous, aggressive, or dominate. I've worked with her a lot by exposing her to other unbalanced dogs (always leashed and muzzled with me holding her and another experience person holding the other dog) and over time she's gotten a lot better.
I would not blame her one bit to attack another dog if she is being attacked. But, I now have 4 other dogs (not including Bully) in the house and more than one has growled at her. She's been amazing in listening to me and going and laying down when I tell her to (while I deal with the other dog). One dog (while kenneled) was growing, barking, and moving the kennel (he's a basset)...a year ago she would have growled and attacked the kennel...but tonight she just sniffed for a second and laid down on the couch. I'm so proud of the progress she's made. ![]() *All the dogs are separated when not supervised and I never allow more than 3-4 dogs to interact just for the fact of I can't deal with more than that if something did start. I've been VERY careful with her and her aggression and she's only actually been in two fights in the last 2 years we have had her and neither one of those had more than one or two small punture wounds. |
