ugh I have this on DVR, but I don't know if I can watch it now. I feel like I should, so that I'm better educated about the breed, but I'm gonna bawl. All of this talk about dogfighting has really opened my eyes. Of course, I always knew that APBT were bred to fight, but I never knew how complex the "dogfighting" world was - that there were "good" & "bad" fights - and how the "old-timers" did it vs. the scum of the earth that do it now in ways described in this tv segment. If dogfighting has to exist (even though I'm not on board w/ it), it's really too bad that scum have taken over the "sport" & now go above & beyond inhumane & cruel.

Once we can work on things like this, then lets get into the BYB issue here.

What I meant by that is as this comes to light more in the media as Vick really got this going and good, as we see things like this, lets let the reporters also know about the BYB issue (will a lot of dog fighters are BYBS).

One thing at a time here, is what I mean when it comes to segments like this ....
Back yard breeding is not illegal though, so their would really be no point because there BYB's for every breed. Look at all the attention puppy mills have gotten over the years and yet they still seem to be pumping out puppies by the hundreds. Why because it is their right to breed them as they see fit as long as they are properly cared for.

I know Miaximus I know sad enough but if we can try to educate people about it perhaps while legal they can see this legal issue is contributing to a lot of problems with all dogs.

I had two posts added here guys sorry I didnt give the admins time to post my first one I thought that perhaps because there was a topic on it already to just post a reaction to it.

Its hard to watch things like this and if it gets too heavy I turn my head but I didnt with the little black bait dog a pit pup I think.

But we have to face this reality sad enough.

Oh at the end, the reporter who covered the story said Dog Fighting has a sub culture in the South especially and its such a strong one that it wont be going away soon.

Again, Im glad this was covered on this show ...

I finally saw the segment this morning. I thought it was done very well. Just like all segments or documentaries on dog fighting, when they start talking to the so called "professionals" they get a lot of opinion and exaggeration about the whys and what for's but I certainly respect the Bryant Gumbel show for it's reporting thought it was well done.
