Recently I have had 2 run ins with the city pound, both for the same reasons Chipotle "attacked"??? Now what the city say and what I believe are a attack are 2 different things then what actually happens. My dog chipotle is not vicious at all, he jus has a issue with running to people because he is excited. He is a very hyper dog and since his breed is the "most dangerous" according to the city, they automatically say he viciously attacked. I mean i'm not saying that is okay for him to do that because he should be on a lead or well tamed to the point where he will stop jumping our fence , I'm saying that being attacked and jus being ran up to is 2 different things. Mind you that both times there was attack aligations there was not anything saying he had bitten or threatend bite the victim. So now since this last saturday my puppy has been held at the animal shelter and will not be released to me until the supervisor looks over his case.

Are you saying your dog ran up to people off leash but was secured behind a fence?
...............or............... Are you saying your dog was off leash and not secured and ran up on somebody? ..............or............... Are you saying that your dog was on a leash and pulled you with him and ran up on somebody? ..............or.............. Are you saying that both times your dog jumped your fence and ran up on somebody? In all the scenarios above except where your dog stayed behind a fence, you did not properly secure your dog from getting into trouble. |

Now you probably won't want to hear this, but this sounds like your fault.
Yes, your dog is probably a fantastic dog, however, the first time, it would have been a mistake, but the second time, shouldn't have happened. After the first time, you should have thought to yourself, "How can I prevent this from happening again?" Now I hope they don't put down your dog. I hope you get a second, well, third chance, for the sake of the dog. I hope you learn from this, and say to yourself. What do I need to do to keep Chipotle safe? A leash when you are outside, or a proper chain set-up. Whatever it takes so that he isn't getting over the fence and out into the general public. |

yeah, your dog shouldn't be in any way able to just run up to a stranger and jump on them. My dog(swayze) is nuts, he would jump on someone who was on fire if he could, but I never let him off leash, and if someone tries to pet him I warn them first...look he doesn't bite, but he will jump all over you. Typically I don't let people Pet him unless I know them just to be safe, because a scratch can turn into a bite, can turn into a full fledged attack according to people.

My dog is always allowed to be a dog! I have owned all sorts and they are all treated the same, irregardless of breed. My girl is allowed loose everyday, she however listens very well. I also live in the country and luckily have slightly more intelligent people here that can tell the difference between and attackby a vicious dog and a playful dog. Good luck to you.
