Default keep diesel in your thoughts
so i get up this morning to 5 piles of diarrhea, i clean it up, let my boyfriend know that diesel is sick and to take him out and make sure he has plenty of water before he goes to work..when i get home from work there were many many more little piles, as well as a pile of vomit. diesel just looked like he felt bad too, not active or himself at all.

i was going to get him some pepto but i figured i needed to take him for a check up anyway and i wanted to make sure he was ok so i went on and took him into the vet.

im glad i did

the dr tells me he needed to be admitted and put on an iv right away, he had a large lump in his stomach she felt from the outside and his temp was 103...they did an x-ray while i was there and there was a major blockage in his intestin.

they have him there over night with the iv, and if he isnt better tomorrow they have to do surgery just to see what it is, since they couldnt really tell from the x-ray.

i am terrified, and hate sitting here in my house all alone without my best friend to keep me company..i hate knowing he is in so much pain.

the dr said he is much sicker than i could have ever known, and he didnt have another day to wait. she said since i braught him in she isnt worried about him passing away, but if they dont act aggressivly toward whatever it is now, he might not make it.

the thing im terrified about is what if i dont have the money to get what he needs? im so scared because i havent been going to this vet long enough for them to bill me (they wont do it) and they only accept cash or check. i just dont know what to do....

please keep us in your thoughts tonight..our whole family is terrified and heart broken without diesel here with us.

[[hugs]]

have you checked into Care Credit? Or is it called Credit Care? I don't know much info about it but an acquaintance used it when her lab needed surgery.

Keep us updated.

Oh that sucks, try to find what he ate. Look around the house and yard, that may help them help him. If it's plastic or the like he will have to have surgery. If this vet is worth anything though they should help. I know they want to get paid for services, but they have also taken an oath to help anaimals, so my point is it would take a real p.o.s. vet to let a family dog suffer and die, when it is fixable. Here there is an owner willingly to work with them who loves this dog. I would not be shy about working out a payment plan of some kind with them. The last thing a vet wants or needs is for the community it serves to know he/she would let a family pet suffer and die because of sheer greed on their part.

Though once this is fixed you must eliminate the source or situation which caused this. Deisel will not understand that the fun thing he chewed up caused all this, and as soon as he is home, and better he will be right back to it... chewing up more... this happens way to often.

We decided that price is not something we are going to stress right now, they will hold our check for 2 weeks for us to come up with the money, so however much it will cost to bring our boy home we will get one way or the other.

I will have all of my utilities shut off, sell whatever i can, and work doubles every day if i need to and chris (boyfriend) feels the same....

So if anyone would like a portrait...now would be a great time to order one because i definatly need the extra cash right now to put up for him.

Ill even lower the price to $20 each in my moment of desperation..

they only accept cash or check...but i just got off the phone with the dr..
THEY ARE RUSHING DIESEL INTO SURGERY, HE WAS WORSE OVER NIGHT AND WHEN THEY RE XRAYED HIM HIS INSIDES LOOKED WORSE TOO, SHE SAID HE HAD MORE "LOOPS" IN HIS INTESTINS, I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT IS BUT ITS APPEARANTLY NOT GOOD, BUT THE WAY SHE TALKED IF THEY GO IN NOW THEY CAN FIX IT AND HE SHOULD RECOVER OK. SHE WILL CALL ME BACK IN A COUPLE HOURS TO LET ME KNOW HOW IT WENT

I watched a documentary on animal planet where a dog was in a similar condition. When they operated they found a tennisball.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I wish diesel a speedy recovery.

we are worried it is a golf ball..several were found chewed up in our yard, and he vomited the rubbery insides of the ball up yesterday

i had no idea their throats were so large that something of that size could go through..
