Okay, so I know what an APBT is lol, I have one...but can someone show me a picture of what they are supposed to look like, as in..structurally correct.
I have been using the Diane Jessup site to measure out Major too see how he fits the standard, but I would like to see some pictures of what American Pit Bull Terriers are supposed to look like, google comes up with way too much short nasty huge headed "pit bulls" which in my opinion are not real pit bulls. Major is the first dog I've had that doesn't have a straight/flat back. He doesn't have a high rump, but his spine sort of, bends up ward..not extremely, but a little bit, it's almost like it gives his back end more power..I've just never seen it before. I looked at a few pictures of Pitties and almost every one seemed to have it to some degree.. So any pictures? I didn't know if this went into the photo section, or just general discussion.. |

Well I dont know if mine are perfect, but Id say pretty close. Ive attached some pics. Terrell is the red brindyl, Babe is the blue brindyl, she is only 6 months so she is not full grown yet. And Charlie is the red and white. He is a recent rescue so his muscular structure is not 100% yet but we're getting there! My fiance Mike agrees with you, that those huge, big headed pitbulls are not real pitbulls. Hope this helps!

You want to see what a pit should look like?
Look at old game dogs from the 40's-70's all the classics. Ukc and others have standards written out. I would put a face on the standard as ukc's top ten for a few years now have all been p.o.s. so no help there. Most ole tymers would tell you an apbt should be/act a certain way more than they should look a certain way. |

This might help understand what they are talking about.

Here are a few of my boyfriends and my dogs. I thought tethering w/ chains was supposed to be the "wrong" thing to do? For instance, in my sales contract for my pup, it was specifically written in that the dog was not to be tethered or chained outdoors. Not trying to be rude just honestly curious .. ? |

Can I ask a question? I'm confused. Why are they all on chains? |
