I came across an article on a blog today about a rottie who bit 2 people to defend itself and it's owners. It happend in france I think, so I'll try my best to translate the guy's petition.

It's 02:30 in the morning when I take my dog Attila out for his last walk.
If only I knew that night would be so long...
3 young drunk guys scream in the street we live in, but we just had a baby, Lisie who's now 2 months old.
I give Attila to a friend of mine and I go to the 3 guys, asking them to go scream a bit further because they would wake up my little girl.
One of them told me it was none of my buisiness, so I don't get more into it and asked them to be a bit quiter because I have a baby sleeping.
Another guy responds that he to, has a baby.
One of them asks me what I plan to do with my dog. I turn around and look at my baby who wouldn't hurt a fly, and sait that the dog has nothing to do with it but to late... the guy gives a big kick in the dogs snout.
As all of us would do, I defended my dog but when I turned around again, I saw my friend who was holding the dog lying on the ground, getting beat up by the other 2 guys.
I manage to get them off him and grab his arm, Attila was SCREAMING! during the fight he managed to get out of his muzzle somehow.
He jumped on one of the assaulters and bit him in the arm, then on another one and bit his hand.
I take my dog and my friend and with all the noise, my girlfriend Celine came outside screaming since I got kicked in the face and broke my nose, I was bleeding pretty bad.
Things could have stopped there but when we were about to rush back inside they beat up my dog again. Celine got down to pick up our dog when one of the assaulters kicks HER RIGHT IN THE HEAD!
I just saw my dog get beaten up, now my wife, I was so angry.
I got back out with my friend and the fight went on again...
Police came in and 4 of the officers point their gun on the dog and ask us to get out of the way. I was told afterwards that they in fact came to shoot the dog! I took Attila in my arms and screamed that they could not kill my dog! He did nothing wrong but defend itself and his owners!
Celine took the dog inside and I was taken to the police station, where I was kept for 14 hours.

OMG! This almost made me cry! That is just terrible!!!!!!!!!!

it is indeed horrible... when it comes to "agressive dog breeds" seems that they can NEVER do anything good

IMO, if that dog was really agressive, those 3 would've been history...

How frustrating! I'd move.That's disgusting that a dog doing it's job is getting in trouble.I hope those 3 guys rot in hell.

I hate France ^^
I really am happy to live in Belgium, even if it's right next to france, at least we have no breed bans yet...

I just found the original blog from the guy himself, and the article was made in 2007 so it's pretty old but I didn't seem to be able to find it he finally was PTS nor how it went in court...
