Default Got caught during zoomies
How many of us have been caught up during a good run around the yard! Today my friend brought his fixed female over while he was helping me fix the cieling in our garage. Well I took the two dogs out. Odie our APBT and Lee a beagle/houndx. I was taking pictures of the two of them running when all of a sudden, I was on the ground. I think I sprained my ankle and got a good scrape from falling off the patio. How many of the rest of you have been caught during a good round of the zoomies.

Odie is around 45-50lbs of muscle. He just came full blast and knocked me sideways off my foot. I have to go to work today, but maybe they'll feel sorry for me, and send me home.

lol the FUNNIEST thing i have ever seen happened to my wife right before the end of the dog days of summer last year. we had two year old prospect playing together in a 10 acre chainlinked pasture that i fixed up to let the dogs play and run in complete safety.well the wife turned around and was looking me dead in the eyes when the next thing i know im lookin at her feet and she heading toward the ground. and fast....

this pup literally no exageration lifted her feet off the ground and essentially flipped her in a 180. she landed on her shoulder if that helps the visual lol...

she would kill me if she knew i was telling this LOL

I feel ya, Dutch is only about thirty six lbs, but the other day he almost took off my pinky toe. Ouch! I can't imagine what it will be like when he's full grown! He also still thinks he can zoom under the side tables and coffee table like he used to. He just about tips them over. It's hard to put a stop to it when you're laughing so hard!

I had a couple come to check out my foster Gertie. She broke out into zoomies and took the guy OUT. They still adopted her though. Who could say no to that face though.

Oh ya! I thought of another one. I was seriously 7 months pregnant or so and we took Daemon's dad's dog Sybel and my Marz out for a run in a field. Sybel of course was running faster than Marz, because she was a fire cracker, but lookin' back at her as she was running, showing off, cause she was a bitch. Marz is all eyes on Sybel sure she'll catch up. Of course neither of them are looking at me and WHAM. They definitley sent me flying, then I hit Sybel on the way down demoing my labret. I guess I was not impressed looking because both dogs hit the dirt and scampered up to me.

Ok.... just one more... I was stupidly playing tug with Tank in the yard. He's a good boy but sometimes forgets his strength and at ten years old he's got the maturity of a four month old puppy and all the ummpphh of an adolecence. Somehow, I can't even begin to say how the rope gets wrapped around my ankle and Tank procedes to happily drag my ass around the yard. I must have looked SO

Yep - I was taken out by a direct hit in the middle of our (dirt) soon-to-be lawn area when there was pleeeenty of room to go around me! I came in hysterically laughing an my husband was like, 'um, you can go outside and brush yourself off.' I've gotten better at anticipating and leaning or jumping out of the way now. I've also seen people get taken out at the knees and hyperextend a knee - sure don't want to do that!

The late great Bear and my Karie were zooming around my mom's yard and he took a flying leap off the end of the deck, took about one step into the yard and nailed me sideways at the knees - I went down and had to sit there for a few minutes before I was sure I could get up. He was about 45 or 50 pounds at the time, all muscle. A lasting reminder...

Thor got me last week at the park. There's this park I go to near my house that's always deserted during the day, so I'll let Thor off his leash so he can run a little bit. He's running around having a great time, and he starts making a beeline for me at full speed. He usually runs at me and then swerves at the last minute, but this time he kind of skidded and sideswiped me, literally knocking me off my feet. My dog is close to ninety pounds and he's solid muscle, so I was grateful he didn't just hit me dead on. Needless to say we ended up in a heap in the grass and then Thor gets up and starts licking my face like he knew he screwed up.

Well Odie fractured my foot. I have to get a cast put on it. Thankfully, I get a breather from work, and need to find something better, otherwise I'm screwed.
