I don't get that blue dog thing neither...
I used to LOVE them (well, i still do though) and used to want nothing but blues. but then I stardet reading, found out it could mean more health problems/skin problems, I found out what a true breeder should be etc yes, blue USED to be a rare color... ![]() now seeing all those blues, I would def NOT buy one these days. I would hate to contribute to the part of bad breeding and breeding for color so the only way for me to one day purchase a blue dog will be if it was not bred to be so. and even if I would LOVE to purchase have a blue dog, it would be nearly impossible to find one from a reputable breeder. and than again I think of how many ppl own blue amstaffs/ambully/pit bull (I sure won't call them APBT's) I would have a really hard time to find my dog back if he shoud run away (you never know!). meaning that there are way to many, and I wouldn't like to own a dog that looks like any other bad bred pit bull-type. I want a true APBT and have come to find out that the blue ones are mostly not pure bred. |

I would also have to add, I hate to see those breeders sell their mutts as true APBT when I see mixed blue dogs that actually look more like good bred dogs than those breeder's mutts (those dogs being (DieselDawg's)Diesel and Ruger of course! I looooove them ^^. and they are not even pure bred! correct me if I'm wrong on this!)
isn't it sad to see more bad bred blue's than good bred non-blues (lol)? ![]() |

I can hardly believe how hard it is to find a real American Pit Bull Terrier!
All I am finding are dogs that are mostly American Staffordshire Terrier or are Bullys and almost all of them are blue. Thousands and thousands of blue dogs. Whats up with that? I've find a few places and thats it. It seems true APBTs are totally in the minority. I can't believe people think blue pits are rare? A couple people have said wow thats a really rare color. Or I've never seen a blue pit. I'm kind of shocked because thats all I can hardly find anymore. Do other breeds have these fads they suffer? I know I've seen the super huge Rottweilers out there. |

It is hard to find a true apbt from searching google on the internet. Try going to maybe a few weight pulling or ABDA or apbt confirmation shows and see if some of the good winning dogs their are being bred and see their health testing scores and if they have any titles and all that type of stuff. Or hang on this site for a bit. Alot of knowledgeable people that know about this stuff.. And you may get hooked up... You just have to be in their circle imo. They dont sell their pups to just anyone.. And i agree their are just SO MANY stupid/greedy/unethical breeders that are trying to breed pit bull type dogs.
www.colbypitbull.com Email him and maybe you can get one of colby's pups that are being bred |

Your real deal dogs wont be paraded down the street. They will be kept from public view and will never make headlines for attacking someone. The breeders of these dogs will only ever be heard about if their yard is raided. Now, as in the past, the best of the best are kept by those who make their dogs earn a living.
