Default What should I bring??
Tomorrow's the big day.. My boyfriend and Office Manager and myself will be on our way (through snowfall, apparently) to finally meet and adopt our new girl. It's going to be an almost 3 hour drive (and probably will if we inevitably need to make any stops on the way.) I know to bring the obvious leash/collar... we'll have my little dog with us as it's crucial to know how they get along; our big boy we're not worried about as he loves every dog he's ever met so he's staying home, plus he probably wouldn't fit in the car anyway on the way back, lol. So we'll have my little girl's travel crate. I'll probably bring some bones for both dogs to enjoy and keep them occupied on the way back if we get a chance to stop by the butchers market after work. Am I forgetting anything? Also, how do you suggest we introduce my current dog to her? She gets along fine with other dogs, but if a dog doesn't have good manners and just runs up to her barking she will of course cower/hide and growl in fear, but not dominance aggression or anything.. she's only about 8lbs. Other than that she fits in great with the pack, if nobody terrorizes her she just runs around amongst them weaving between legs and curling up on the really fluffy ones that let her, haha. Would it be a good idea to get Xelda calmed down first and have us interact with her a little prior to bringing my lil girl in to meet her? I'm sure she'll be awfully hyper as she's not in a shelter but actually just a in a vet clinic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I'm so excited/anxious it's nuts!! We've helped to rescue/rehome quite a few dogs in the past but when it comes down to a dog I know we plan to have forever I get so nervous!!

Definitely will do on the water! Meeting on neutral ground shouldn't be hard, we could probably borrow an exam room or something if they've got any free... do you think we should meet the dog first (before introducing them)? As in, keep my little one somewhere else, to give Xelda time to settle down after being let out of her crate first? I wouldn't want to do too much at once!

Pix will be definite... I have two cameras, both of which are so moody and only turn on half the time now.. and they're both expensive!! I've bought like, the highest of the highest quality rechargeable batteries too and most of the time they won't even turn the cameras on. But you can be d@mn sure I'll find a way to make one work, even if that means I have to bring 3 packs of AA's =P

AHH, good idea about the clean-up stuff! Especially since it won't be our car, haha. And actually I think I have some disposable foldable water dish thingie that I got at the dog fair in a grab bag this summer.. I'll have a use for it now.
