How you doing? I was wondering if you can help me out. I just got a Baby Blue from a breeder. His Father is about 85-95lbs and his mother is about 70 lbs. My pup is 3 1/2 months and weight about 20 lbs. At what age do they have there growth spurt? He also has very big ears is that normal?

What you have is an american bully breed type thus its not going to look like a APBT. So it will have bigger ears. They go through plenty of growth spurts, the most noticeable is from now to 6-8months of age puppies get larger each week. once they are in between around 6-8months they grow a bit slower, and wont finish filling out and mature in size until about 1 1/2-2yrs old generally.

The american bully breed type, is not a american pit bull terrier. There larger and mixed with bulldog type backrounds that are more or less newer developed such as people are crossing English Bulldogs, with American bulldogs and throwing some Apbt in there sorta thing for an example. A APBT (American pit bull terrier) is much smaller and "FIT" while the american bully type, is more hippo, there large, wrinkely, and thick built.
For the type of dog you have 20lbs/3 1/2months is normal im assuming, if it was a APBT (Pit Bull) it would be half that size right now. |

Ooo...His daddy doesnt look well bred...ouch. Back legs are not set right, Sway back appears to have a very long torso....But def. a run of the mill Am. Bully breed type...and apperently a byb...Your pup is cute and love him up! Unfortunetly I wish you did more research before purchaseing him, he could end up with medical issues later on in life from poor breeding.

I wouldnt crop his ears adds character when there floppy but do as you please. He looks well sized for what he is.
IF you want cropping done you need to seek out a good vet, which means you may have to call several vets, and get examples of there work. There is a such thing as a bad vet who will do a bad crop job. But otherwise if you want to hack his ears it needs to be done asap so when the cartalige hardens the ears set right. |

Ouch that last reply hurt but i really appreciate your honesty... Can tell what you think about his big ears and why are they so big? Another thing is do you think he will be a big dog? how much should he weigh around? I feel like his head is small? And finally, at what age is to old to get his ears cropped? (wow i sure do feel like a Junior member asking all these questions. Thanks again in advance)
