Yes, they are fascinating. Difficult to tell the time with though, and I don't think I can find one in my price range. if telling the time is all you need.. try this ![]() .. er, sorry.. the timing seems off a bit.. (a watch sent to me for refurbishment) |

Just to throw a spanner in the works. There's a nice German ( Swiss) chrono that I kind of like. who is willing to show their skills? I mean it isn't only up to me to google about.. for the sake of others idleness. |

which has a Seiko 6S37 movement? http://www.askania-uhren.de/detail.p...n1b1b86ihcagv3 I must have been confused by the Askania website that says: "Reviving the true spirit of the company’s founder we introduce Askania watches 2002. These exceptional automatic watches are produced for highest precision, shock and water resistant to 100m. Some models have a mineral crystal bottom imprinted with the "Heinkel Arrow", which reveals the beautiful mechanics of the automatic Swiss movement.Following the tradition Askania today continues the legend with: Highest Precision Dependability Functional Design Robust and indestructible Exclusively Swiss Precision Calibres (except for calibre GD3) " And maybe I was misled by this "Askania Automatik-Kaliber ASK 4062 auf Basis des Valjoux 7750" |

Well excuse me for not recognising the manufacturer of a movement from its photo. |

I'd already done that research which is why I described the watch as "German (Swiss)". If that photo shows a Seiko movement, fine, the website is wrong, but you're out of order to accuse me of being "idle". Yes, several German manufacturers use Swiss movements. This has long been the case. There are French watches with Chinese movements too. The Opel is a German car, no? What engine did Jack Brabham use? My reference to idleness mainly pointed to the fact that others have newer faster computers and broadband connections, use the latest browsers and are quite capable. I may well be able to help with identifications and know better search terms but I'd personally be better off spending my time fixing the watch. Again, I'm sorry if offence has been taken. |
