Dear "The Lab"
Please include a summary of your link. I usually want to know if I want to click on the link in the first place. I d don't have enough time or bandwidth to click on every link in case "it might be interesting". As to the content, Still Wild, Still Threatened - Hmm hard call there. They do draw attention to the crap that's going on in Tasmania. That's very valuable. They have people on the ground seeing what's going on. That's valuable. The fact they have a permanent camp set up on a road that only Hydro staff/contractors, loggers and the occasional bushwalker use means that they're unlikely to garner public support that way. Last time I was though there, the camp was squalid and the people were squalid. It was not a place that Dennis and Enid would want to stop their motorhome to have a cup of tea with the self appointed "saviours of the environment" on the way to lake Pedder. If the individuals of Still Wild Still Threatened could clean themselves up enough to present a sensible public persona, they may find more folk willing to listen rather than label them "feral ratbags". It's a hard thing when you're dealing with a Tasmanian government. It's harder still if you stack the odds against yourselves by being dirty, smelly and trying to stand on the shakiest of places, high moral ground. |
