There are many such Red Jewel Bugs foraging for small dodonaea (hopbush) seeds ...this one was the most co operative ! the others, when disturbed by me & the camera, would turn & face me, & give a flick of their wings/wing covers ..wait a bit, then scurry off, trundling their seed along underneath their bodies ..like rolling on a ball bearing in a cage

Augh! Typical - go away for a few days and the web server falls over the day you leave!

I kicked it in the pants and its running now so you can access my photos again. Hopefully I'll get a chance to reprogram it tomorrow so this doesn't happen again.

Ahhhh amazing what a good swift kick up the ....... will do Fantastic photos so glad you could get the problem fixed.

so many people ask me and my better half what there is to do out in the bush, often say there is never enough time to do what we want and there is so much more to to look at! Like fungi !!!!! Great work keep the photos coming if you can

I've just realized Fuhrer has H. coralloides whilst McCann has H. clathroides. I thought it was just a name change but it seems both are probably valid in Australia. I think I might have actually photographed the latter and wrongly ID'd it as the former. Any thoughts?

Hericium coralloides ...
