A lot of you have misunderstood the article. My question is that if string and membrane theory only work in a 10 or 11 dimensional universe, then how de we mere mortals access these other dimensions? On that note. Why can we travel in any direction in space and only one direction in time? It just aint fair. |

I hate the current string & membrane theory, impossible to prove one way or the other, in fact you may as well believe in a magical being that created everything.
As for time, I think that science is looking at it in the wrong way, time is our way of marking something out, the same as a mile is a way to mark something out. Time may not be the thing that we expect it to be. |

Oh, I got that. You find me anywhere that says we can only travel time one dimensionally? |

Time is related to motion. Without movement in space by anything there would be no time. I disagree, with this statement because the arguement could easily run that measurement is needed in space otherwise how would things be apart from each other.
I think far too much emphasis is placed on time being something important, when it is our marking of it's passage that seems to make it that way. |

There is only one constant, and it is time. Not distance,if you see what I mean This constant that you refer to is obviously the SPEED of light, If I am not mistaken that is a measure of both distance & time (300,000 km per second).... but once again it is a man made reference, light travels at that speed, it is not a magical thing, just the speed of light - why then don't we see the distance of 300,000 km as something magical?

Mach Vs Einstein, Space vs Time. |

I don't give a great importance to either of them as I think that they are both man made references without any real signifigance. They are very important as references but they do not stand out as being a thing such as the dimensions.
I used magical because it kinda has religious overtones that I think may be creeping in here a little in the way we look at time, not as in god but as in something to be revered, at least for scientists... |
