Hey, we all saw it coming.

Big waste of time.

Anyway, scientists are already begininning to realise that focusing on ways to cut carbon emissions is fruitless, since America and China will never agree to that.
They want to alter the levels of carbon artificially in the atmosphere now.

I say Copenhagen ending with a dedicated 100 billion via good ole USA would be an epic failure. They're are talking about warming, meanwhile there's an inch of snow on the bicycle seats of the prostitutes there... I don't even want to argue the validity of that garbage.

That's because the correct term is Climate Change.

If the average world wide temperature rises a degree, that doesn't mean during the middle of winter Northern Europe won't get snow lol.

I heard a proposal yesterday that made a lot of sense.

Don't remember who thought it up but the concept was to institute a carbon tax. I believe it was based on temperatures. The tax would start out so low to not have any real financial impact on businesses. If a business wanted to gamble that temperatures are stable and do not rise noticably then they could continue as is and they would not be impacted. However if the temperatures rose they would start getting hit with higher and higher taxes accordingly. This gave them time and incentives to find alternative energy in which case if they did then if the temps rose they would not be impacted if they did use an alternative.

It's a farce Zor....And most of us know it. Let me ask you something, in the first few days of the summit, the impoverished countries were crying that the wealthy countries were pressuring them to do the impossible without the proper funding.

Extrapolate that further...A country that relies on other nations to feed them, fight for them, give them medical treatment...Has a fucking carbon emission issue?

Some of these countries have a majority of people that do not have indoor plumbing....But they are emitting too much CO2?

Do you really think if you gave some of these countries all that money...They would use it to reduce carbon emissions?

How? Putting a catalytic converter on the 3trillion children because birth control is against their religion?

If you're referencing China mainly, some of your ideas are a little wonky. America or Europe certainly don't feed or finance China in any conventional way. Although I acknowledge a lot of the country does live in poverty.
I can't speak for other similar countries, like India because I don't know a lot about them; but most of the Tiger Economies are more or less in the same position as China.
They're asking for money of course, but, they're in a unique position to do so. And its too good to pass up, even I can see that. The last thing I want is to give money to any developing country, there's enough world debt already. That I can agree on.

Oh puhleeze! 100 years ago the people we gave this money to lived in mud huts and eked a miserable existence off the land.

They STILL live in mud huts today - the only difference is that their leaders now live in mansions and drive smart cars.

So guess where this money is going?

Duh.

You think I'm stupid enough to refer to China as impoverished? Who do you think substantiates our wealth

POOR countries were complaining....China is another issue, a few more years of this administration, and we'll be just like 'em

I wasn't sure, but China did make complaints about the pressure to modernise, be more efficient etc... So I wasn't clear who you meant is all

They don't like pressure from anyone, they don't feel they should get pressured. They have the money, they just don't give a fuck what the rest of the world thinks.

No, I wasn't referring to them....They are another issue altogether. Who different ball game, and hell they will just lie and say they are doing it, then fuck us behind our backs.....With our own money

I just love them little red coat wearing bastards
