While watching the retreat of the Teardrop ice mass within the Canadian Arctic, scientists have found that recently unfrozen plants, a number of which had been below ice since the reign of Henry VIII, were capable of growth thereafter.

I tried looking for information on how glaciers preserve items so well, and couldn't find anything, but this is another remarkable example of how well things have stayed preserved within glaciers.

Low temperature and lack of oxygen once the item is locked in ice are the reason that glaciers preserve items so well.
