Compatibility View? - DiscussWorldIssues - Socio-Economic Religion and Political Uncensored Debate

I have Windows 7 and when I go on Facebook sometimes I get this pop up at the top of the screen saying Compatibility View had to refresh the page or something like that. Then yesterday IE opened a page that said Compatibility View but it freaked me out so I closed it. Does anyone know what this Compatibility View means or is all about? Thanks!
