Mine was better than yours those because I had two 16K RAM packs on the back. Used to love loading games from a tape recorder which made funny screeching noises for about 5 minutes and then failed to load because the volume wasn't at exactly the right setting and the instructions never told you what that was anyway! Not! Remember the fun of writing out a long program in BASIC for hours on end to play some crappy game, not being able to save was a bastard for this too! My cousin once spent 12 hours non stop trying to make a cricket game, he had nearly finished when his sister ran in the room and accidently kicked the plug out of the socket!
oh I still miss it to this day! By the time I had upgraded (well, my parents upgraded me to a Commodore VIC20) I had the memory pack, and a proper keyboard for it. So cool. I was still using my ZX81 for BASIC programming up to the late 80s... Hey, remember a TV show called "The Whizz Kids"? They hacked into NASA on a ZX81!!

My full computer history:

ZX81
Commodore VIC 20
ZX48
Amstrad CPC464
Commodore Amiga A500
Compaq Windoze computer
Apple LC475
Apple PowerMac
Apple iMac
Apple Lombard Laptop
iBook G3 Clamshell
Apple G4 titanium Laptop
iMac G5
iMac 27" & MacBook & iPhone

damn, a lot of computers...

Just curious to see how many of you remember what was the very first computer you ever owned ?

This was mine

Commodore 64

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_64

But interestingly enough my first computer I learned to program and work on was YES ED.. And Apple II

Hello!
Me too bought C-64 during mid 80's but hardly used it.. then gave it away as I was not interested in learning languages (basic) ..only 4 1/2 years back bought P-3 and am using P-4 now!!

The first ever computer was Commodore 64 for games. Compaq Presario started my Internet addiction.

My father bought me a Tandy TRS-80 from Radio Shack. I mostly played games on it. Then I had an Apple 2 on which I used to make video games that were like ATARI's Space Invaders.
Mom bought me on from a friend so I could do my essay's on it... It worked well for that kinda thing.. but then I couldn't get ink for the printer anymore....

I have one of those in my living room.

Mine was an NEC with 4gs!!! I had Windows 3.0 and AOL before they had the versions....I thought I was queen of the world at age 11.
