Default Netbooks?
What is the point of these? I'm using an HP mini right now, and am staggered at how appalling it is - it's hands down without a shadow of a doubt the worst internet browsing experience I've had, I've used phones that are better. Considering these things are sold as convenient internet terminals, why have the been designed to suck so badly at doing the one task they're designed for?

Like so much of this world, it beggars belief.

I have one and to be honest I like it, purely because it's smaller than a regular laptop thus gives me a little more space. Does what I need it to really.

My main complaint is the screen - what good is a widescreen display for internet usage? Pages are designed vertically. Most pages I've loaded so far fit the header in the screen and nothing else. The size is certainly convenient, but damn, it's just horrible to use. Everything takes twice as long, a single post on OTz for example doesn't even fit on the screen!

Total usability fail in my (net)book. 0/10.

I don't know what their key market is to be honest. I have an Acer netbook, I can see why people do dislike them but it was £30 well spent for me.

And yeah, I'm a stunning 18 year old model, want some Dex?

The're just a pointless novelty gimmick, like the new design VW Beetle.

I think this one would make a rather good doorstop. Other than that, yeah, pretty gimmicky.

your brother was robbed at both ends.

Well we have a few. I have no idea what my brother has.
We have a desktop in the lounge room and another laptop out there.
But yeah I mainly use this one, my HP, because last year my mum kept hogging the desktop computer (which was the only one we had at the time to share between me, my sister and mum), so I bought this one really cheap. The only thing I like about having my own one is the fact it's private in my room, that's all really lol.

I cope by yelling at it a lot, it's a big pain in the bum.

It definitely is useful for that
So much better than living under the constant paranoia of mum reading MSN conversations.

I almost bought the ASUS 1201N, if I hadn't tried it in a shop, I would of bought it blindly and been totally disappointed with it
