Default Youtube has been pissing me off lately
It seems like every fucking video I go to can not be embedded into other websites. It's very fucking annoying. How does disabling embed benefit the person who uploaded the video? It's a video online you can't reproduce or sell it... It makes no fucking sense... The same with all these big TV corps that feel they need to delete old clips of shows that are uploaded what good is holding the copyright to a show people find nostalgic if we can not watch them? Release it on DVD or sell it to someone else who will.

There are couple of firefox extensions I love. Well One I love and the other I think I love but don't know yet since I only recently started using it. (FlashGot) - and - (youtubemp). If you install Flashgot you'll notice a little film strip icon show up at the status bar while you are watching a youtube video. You can click on it to download that video. If you are using youtubemp there will be a link at the right with the description of the video to download mp4 of the video.

Ok, now once you have that video, you can upload to your own webspace or some hosting you can link to and on your own site or blog just use a embed for mp4 or if you need to link to flv video then there are flash video players for websites you can find on google. For example, The Long Tail

I just discovered that one of my favorite videos isn't available because of copyright restrictions in my country...

I've been using proxies for other sites for years, why didn't I think of that?
