Default Network switch recommendation
Looking to replace my ancient 10/100 24-port unmanaged switch with a 48-port gigabit switch that offers PoE on at least some of the ports (need not be all). Also doesn't need to be super managed; not doing a lot streaming. I'm also not a gamer. Two stackable 24-ports products would also work. This is for my home, which is fully wired for Cat 5e. Too bad it's not wired for Cat 6 or better. I'm also not running any fiber. Cat 5e was the standard at time the cables were pulled.
I've heard stories about reliability that ranges from wonderful to miserable for, it seems, every switch maker.
I'd appreciate reading your thoughts about switches.

I'm a big fan of the Netgear ProSafe switches, but I don't have any PoE devices or PoE-capable switches.
I have two 5-port switches, one in each room where most of the computers are. That way I only need one cable running to each area instead of cable per device. Running cables in a 3-story home built in 1890 with solid brick walls and hand-crafted plaster is no treat.
