It won't hurt to swap out modems. You can get bad ones, even right in a row........its not unheard of. They are mass produced so to have a whole batch that are bad is not uncommon. We got a whole shipment of mother boards that were bad.............it happens.

Yeah the last one I had for 3 yrs and just bought this one to replace that one because it crashed. I will probably replace it this weekend once I find the receipt!
