I really should know the answer to this question.
![]() Specifically, I make greeting cards and sell them on Etsy. Most of them are plotted out and executed using Hallmark program, and it takes up way too much space on my work computer (where the printer is). Can I install it on an external hard drive and then just carry that thing back and forth from my house computer to my work computer and actually run the program off the external drive??? |

i can't answer your question, but think i know the answer.
to whoever answers it (likely NLINE), i would like to add: could you get around the issue preventing the above by using a tool like "sandboxie", where all the dll's point inward? Spiral, i don't think you can do it...i think you would have to install some components into the Windows directory, and without a "mounted" HD it would not work. But i may be wrong...if i am then i am going to run all my apps from a jump drive....get around licensing that way. LOL |

No when most windows programs are installed they modify the registry and even windows system files so you can't run the program on the external drive. Having said that I would think the data i.e. the cards and not the program would be the big hog on your system. Install the program on both computers but store the cards you make on the external drive.
