I think it's the handbag she's carrying that you see below the hem of the dress.
Sharp eyes, pam. Although now that I've looked closer (and agree that there's prolly a handbag held behind her in that pic) I have to ask:

Just where is her right thumb in that photo? Does this thing have pockets as well as buttons? I'm going to stop looking, because the closer I examine it, the worse it gets.

I'm not entirely sure how to describe this, but I've been noticing ever since Roland Garros that Maria has very chubby armpits. The way her dresses were cut at RG (and to a lesser extent at Wimby) sort of put a large chunk of armpit outside of the straps of her dress, a chunk that would get sort of red and irritated looking as matches wore on. It wasn't attractive.
blackgirltennis (former poster from TAT/ESPN) noticed this during the USO when Maria was wearing her prom dress. She christened the problem "Maria's underarm boobies."

I personally always thought Maria had a terrible sense of style. For all the crap we like to give Serena, you can tell she at least put a little effort into her garb.

From a distance it looks fine but up close it doesn't fit well at all. Why is she so red where the straps meet the bodice?

Here's Serena and more of the Pova gil.

I dunno - isn't it like a gazillion degrees in California? Why leather Maria?
And maybe it's me but I always think a woman with a heavy bust looks better with some support no matter the cut of the dress. Still, this is a major improvement for Serena. And she lost those hideous eyebrows she was painting on.
me thinks maria needs a whip to complete her look.

I saw a small clip from the ESPYs red carpet on one of the entertainment shows at the gym tonight, and the leather dress wasn't as horrendous as it looks in photos.

I really like this commercial, don't think it ever aired in the US, or else I missed it.

Very awesome commercial. I especially like the part where Daniela ('s body double) makes the dive into the gravel.

ok, that is EXTREMELY cool, AND shows some wonderful athleticism from profesionals who also happen to be attractive women.

I watch a LOT of tennis on TV, and have never seen it aired.

But what does Sony cram down our throats (at least in the US) instead?

"make every shot ..." I can't even finish it. With that girl I REALLY don't like.

confession: the one where she's hitting on a ball machine and spells out her name with balls stuck in the fence was kinda cool.
