I see Junior Girls #1 Taylor Townsend is Court 11 which is a TV court. Wonder if they're going to broadcast that match?

He shouldn't really have the game to win this match, but if ever a guy was made for playing the role of cartoon villain today then surely it's Fabio Fognini.

Seeing her in the junior's draw made me realize that she reached the 3rd round of women's doubles last year, but is not entered this year. Strange. Didn't she get a WC or did she not request one? Does anybody know?

I notice CBS is listing the true heights for Hewitt and Ferrer. 5'9" for Hewitt (not 5'11") and 5'7" for Ferrer (not 5'9")

I kind of thought Hewitt would lose faith a bit after losing the first set in the tiebreak, but I turn back and see he's up a break in the second. When did Hewitt start winning matches again?

I'd love to see Hewitt win this one, I'd say he has very few tournaments left before he retires.

You know the feeling I get from Hewitt? That he's been out the conversation for so long, had surgeries and the rest of the negative stuff that goes along with it, that he's not really upset by not having a seeding or falling out of the top 20 or whatever. Things that probably did bother Roddick since he was top 10 and contender for a long time.

Besides, Andy wants to win; Lleyton wants to compete. He relishes the chance to go up against the top dogs and throw a wrench in their gears. And as long as he can do this, he'll keep on playing. He took a set off Djokovic at the Olympics, now he's pushing Ferrer... I think Lleyton will stick around for another year or so.

If his health allows and his ranking doesn't completely disappear, Hewitt will probably play another two years. Haas is almost 3 years older and he is still here and might even get back to the top 20.

GO DAVID - So pleased with Ferrer's win over Hewitt just now! In addition to being a gritty little guy with no-quit attitude, he just seems to be a genuinely NICE fellow!

I just wish the commentators would quit putting up his section of the draw and remarking "One of these players is going to be a US Open semifinalist!" like it's unbelievable. They act like Ferrer has never been that far before. It's insulting.

She's had injury issues all year long so I'd say that she didn't enter because her results haven't really warranted a WC this year whatsoever. Honestly, I'm a little surprised she's entered in the junior's at all and I'm shocked she's the top seed. I mean she's above Yulia Putintseva who is top 130 or so at this point so it seems a bit strange considering her mediocre year so far.

Yeah, but if one of the top 4 is going to lose before SF it's almost certainly going to be him. It's just honest, isn't it?

Now there are only two players left who are yet to lose a set.
