One of the writers over at Tennis.com just called Fernando Verdasco "budget Rafa"
So true.
Haha. Feli Lopez is the budget Mauresmo, methinks.

Wow, just noticed this storyline. Sharpova's 3rd round opponent was Mallory Burdette, a senior at Stanford. Career earnings: 41k, 3rd round loser's check: 64k! That should make for a fun year back at school
She won a couple of ITF's this summer too. Has she been flagged as a top prospect?
She's not allowed to take any prize money by the NCAA

That's too bad. Is it at least held in trust for her?

Of course not - she is an amateur and is not playing this for money! You need to turn pro before the tournament to receive any money.

Nope, in her interview yesterday she said it went back to the USTA. However, she can take out travel and hotel expenses that she incurred at the Open.

Jarkko has won more than 4 games in this match which, in itself, is a win. However I'm still yelling at my TV on pretty much every point. It's all so scrubtastic.

You don't specifically look up all of my posts!!!??? I did a small write up on her a few days ago when I watched her beat Hradecka. Just "search for more posts" by my name and it should be easy to find. Or just check the first page or two of the thread a couple days ago.

I used to like Tomic a little...not anymore. That was absurd. And points to Zheng for effort, but not to Fernandez for saying that she was the toughest the field has to offer. If that is remotely true, the WTA is awful.

Tomic certainly has a lot of growing up to do.
