Default Serena/Maria - WHO YA GOT?
The women's final of the 2012 Olympics - featuring the marquee players of the WTA. The only two career Slam holders currently playing. And both past Wimbledon champs as well.

Career H2H - 8-2 Serena. Maria has not beaten Serena since 2004, when she won both Wimbledon, and the YEC.

Career on grass - 1-1. With both players winning that match in straight sets.

Maria's ass is grass, and Serena is the lawnmower.

Maria could never beat Serena in a final at Wimbledon.

(again)

Maria's been very impressive through the semis. But Serena's been absolutely dominant. Just don't see anyway for Maria to take a set, let alone a win.

I voted Serena in two because that is the result I want. There are two things I still wish to see Serena accomplish - winning a gold medal at the olympics (and frankly, after she lost in 2008, I did not think there was chance of this since she'd be over 30 when 2012 olympics came around) and winning the French Open again (and frankly, this dream is fading fast after this year's French).

Same here. I expect Maria to put up a bigger fight than Serena's faced up to this point, but still lose somewhere along the lines of 6-4 6-4.

Bleh, Ill take a Maria silver if the other Maria can get a bronze. Girl needs something to show for her great play on grass this season.

Maria needs to drop more than a few coins in the collection plate if she wants to have any prayer what so ever of even getting a set.

Think Sharapova will find a way to make this a 3 set battle despite Williams losing only 16 games in her 5 matches

Not me. I think Serena get extra fired up to crush Sharapova. This will be swift.

The two fastest events at the Olympics:
the 100 Mts dash, and Serena crushing Maria.
(Ok, maybe NOT that fast but it will last a whole lot less than the 10,000 mts).

The more interesting poll...will Maria cry after losing?

Or who is more likelier to cry? Women's Loser...or Men's Loser? I'm definitely going with men's loser!
